    How much are you paying for the new axle & 3rd member?

    If I were you I would put an ARB in your existing setup. May not be that much more expensive. ARBs are much stronger, and they lock and unlock instantly, unlike an elocker. A lot of people on here also complain of issues with the elocker actuator, although I've never experienced any problems.

    That is my biggest issue with the e-locker, there have been some tight spots where I have to spend what feels like an eternity trying to get it to lock in.

    For the most part, I would agree with this. Tho adding an ARB will also require adding OBA of some type to actuate it. I've also read that the 8.4 carrier is stronger, less prone to flexing under duress compared to the 8.0.

    Elocker isn't worth it if it's over 4-500 total imo. Otherwise. Save and get an arb.

    2 questions.


    1) Max tire size I could run with a 2" OME lift and 3.5" BS 16" wheels 285/75/16?
    2) I changed my oil and noticed the oil pan has some oil stains on it in rear only? Do I just need to reseal it?

    Having a little issue....

    Sometimes when starting the truck I turn the key and nothing happens. (No click)

    But then try to start it again and it starts fine. The problem started after a deep (ish) water crossing...

    I've had the battery tested and it was good, no corrosion on the terminals, starter itself tested good but I'm thinking I may need to replace the contact terminals possibly? Or something with the ignition switch possibly?

    It has never done this before I went into the water.. any help appreciated :D

    Other threads I read possibly suggested a variety of other things....

    Could be the contacts on the starter.

    When that happened to me that's what it was. And then again it was a bad battery.

    Ordered a "rebuild kit" today so I'll do that tomorrow and also clean up the starter wires and ground points and hopefully solves the issue...

    It only does it probably 1/10 starts

    I went back to the local rockpile to try and make it further now that I have sliders, was fun but I didn't make it all the way through, need a bellypan skid. I scraped the stock skid, LCA and cross members a lot and decided to stop before I hit the transfer case. I also scraped and dented part of my rear pumpkin, all in all not too bad and I could have gone all the way through with a belly skid.

    On my way out a rock was jutting the wrong way and caught the pumpkin pretty good. A kindly stock Jeep wrangler passing by offered to snatch it out of the way for me so I also got to have a chat with a Jeep guy. Nice new rig, couldn't talk him into tackling the rocks. :p
