Just did my power steering flush.

Open hood. Leave key on acc so wheel is unlocked. Jack the front end up so the front tires are off the ground. Suck out all the old fluid from the reservoir. Then cycle the steering wheel from lock to lock 15-20 times (this will push the fluid out of the lines into the reservoir. Suck all that out and repeat until no more fluid is present. Then, refill the reservoir half way with your fluid of choice. I went with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF (which is what i've seen some of the first gen guys go to). Cycle the wheel back and forth 15-20 times slowly with someone watching the fluid so it doesn't puke out (if you put too much in). You will see that cycling the wheel sucked a bunch of fluid down into the lines. Add a little more fluid and repeat until the fluid level is no longer going down. Then, start the truck for about 10 seconds. You'll see that the fluid level went down again a tiny but (this is because the pump actually turned on and started to cycle). If need be. Top the fluid off to cold max. Go for about a 5-10 mile drive and do lots of turning and cycling of the wheel to get the fluid warm so you can check the hot level. This will also get rid of any bubbles in the lines.

 

Top off again if needed after driving.

I did not have to. I went to chickfila and came back and the fluid level never changed
