Finally joined the Taco family

Thanks! I have been wanting a taco for years and just never was able to get one for one reason or another. Loving this truck!

 

I hear you, just got mine last month. I can't stop spending money on that thing!

 

The technology in these things is awesome. It will take me a while to learn how to use things properly. I had voice recognition in my 2014 Rav4 but never really tried to use it much. I can already tell this Tacoma has much better voice recognition so I am going to make a good faith effort to use it as much as I can.

 

I also added a parking assist ball since I don't have much room in my garage:

Does the screen protector help with finger prints at all?

 

So far they have been good. They seem to ride nice and are not loud at all.

Somewhat. The main reason I got it was to avoid scatching it while I clean it off. It is quite scratch resistant.

Very nice truck!! I kept going back and forward with getting the inferno color and a quicksand tan color. I eventually went with the quicksand tan but can't go wrong with inferno

 

Yeah, those were the only two colors I considered for the TRD Offroad. It is interesting how it looks more reddish or more orangish depending on lighting or time of day.

 

Beautiful Taco, and really enjoyed the small mods you've done to it, particularly the matching colored lettering on the stamped areas.

Definitely wrote those down to do to my own.

Walked into my office on Monday to see this package from BAMF

I was surprised because I didn't know it shipped.

So, I had to wait until yesterday to unbox it but I felt it looked great. It was packaged exceedingly well and I was eager to get it installed. I took the OEM grille out and then realized I did not see the bolts to install the colored backing plate on the grille. I did not want to have to reinstall the OEM grille so it was off to Lowes:

I purchased some stainless steel 10x24 bolts, washers, and split washers to put on the backplate. Got the grille installed and really like the look! The powdercoating is well done.

Damn, started off buying a truck and all the little doo-dads for it at once. What's next?

Yeah, I had ordered everything before I even got the truck. I just received the grille though. I was nervous about doing any mods or any changes to the truck initially due to all the issues people have raised on this forum but I went for it and have been lucky enough that I have had no issues at all with the truck (knock on wood). I think I am done for a little while. I do intend on getting a better lift with replacing suspension components rather than the spacers/blocks that I have now. I just went with the spacers/blocks at this time because I don't do any offroading at this point but liked the look of a lift. I know they are not ideal which is why I will replace them so that when I decide I want to off road some I will have the appropriate suspension.

 

This is the absolute smartest thing you can do for these trucks.

Second smartest however, is a suspension lift instead of a spacer lift. If you like how it rides though, enjoy. Nice truck.
