Good morning everyone, had to work my day off again, so two day weekend.Got my results back from a biopsy on my cheek, basil cell carcinoma.Pretty common for us old farts, suppose to be an easy fix. I will have a scar to sport around, life patina. Still prepping for winter, putting stuff away, leaves. You kids have a good one.

we have people that try to secretly mark filters and tires. If they are a real dick and always complain I have been known to put the marks back on new parts. I have a bunch of markers and crayons of different colors. When they do that it insults me to no end. I know they don't know who's working on their vehicle and a understand that things don't get done way to often. But for me I take it personal. You on the other hand are doing it for records. And I see that on some of our older customers. I have been known to write notes on filters like Merry Christmas, the date, or for one person, "yes I changed your filter".
My grandfather was like you with a log etc. I found one many many years after his passing. I brought back some great memories. I use to help him(if you want to call it help) doing things around the car, lawn mower, house. He had a small tool box that I was so fortunate to get on his passing. I call it the "magic box" because he could fix anything with what was in there. The thing is I look in there and there isn't much. It use to be in his trunk of his cars along with a log in his glove box.

I guess this post stirred some memories of him and I just started typing. He was a very special man in my life. Sorry about that...

Nice story about your Grandpa Mike. My father worked on test aircraft and kept copious notes. When he passed I inherited them, not sure if there's any "value" in them but when I miss him I break one out and look through it.

Good morning and happy Saturday morning, back home late last night after driving 500 miles from SD. Had beef jerky and a lot of diet dew and coffee on the way jealous of the meals you all had, did pass most of the places mentioned but didn't want to stop that long. Have a freezer full of pheasant and grouse from the North Shore so some great meals coming up in the future :)

Speed limit on interstates in SD is 80, Ram Mount with GPS and phone vibrates a little at 84 mph LOL. There used to be a billboard outside the airport in Aberdeen, SD that said Eat Meat, Wear your furs, and keep your guns, Welcome to SD. I noticed it is now gone. Heard a rumor that a Subaru with stickers plastered all over the back end including one that said I drive 55 to save the Earth once entered SD. It was never seen again. I do like a lot of things about SD but good to be home and sleep in my own bed. Looking forward to returning to the plains with the pup and chasing phesants next year already though. If the snow stays away hope to get up on the Canadian border with him one more time this year to chase grouse.
