that was about 20 minutes after the front springs were installed so it was nose high. its still about 1/4"- 1/2" higher in the front. steel skids should fix it which was always in the plans. when i add a winch and steel bumper i will step up to the 886 springs, add a steel rear bumper and then see what i need to do with the rear. the next time i need a set of tires (or move these 285s to my 82 sr5 hilux) i will be stepping up to a 295/75r16.

What size tires can most fit with the 888's?

Thought I was going to be able to run 285/70/17 on 17x8 fx pro wheels, but I am having serious doubts after seeing some guys claim rubbing with 275/70/17 on trd wheel.

Another stupid question while I am at it, does a bilisttein set at zero provide any lift over the ome shock?

From pics posted it seems like the guys running bilisteins at zero with 888 get more perceived lift than full ome kit.

I don't know the answer but i am curious as well. If so that means OME shocks and springs provide the same travel with less ride height. If that's the case I would personally just order a longer spring from OME since you can have both travel and height

I have bilstein 5100 set at 0 with 888 coils. After installing my slimline, a winch with synthetic line and rock sliders I lost about an inch of lift in the front. I'm switching to 886 coils as I still plan on installing skids and rather not set the bilsteins at anything above 0.

Awesome! Thank you for this info. I have sliders and full RCI skid set so I would be in the same boat.

    Got my new shoes today!!

    285/70r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Tried running the 33x12.5's but I was rubbing pretty good on the Cab mount. Until i decide to start cutting my new truck, the 285's are staying!

    Enjoy!

Ome 888/Dakar with softer valved shocks. with 3rd leaf still in. Was not sure how it was going to sit. will wait for it to settle and see if the 3rd leaf stays. Like the ride!

    Spc UCA's/ diff drop installed.
    Fn fxpro wheels.

    285/70/17 bfg bro tires,lol.

No rubbing so far/ no trimming yet.

Waiting few days to settle for measurements.

Thanks to all that answered questions and PM's. Was a tough decision between this and the boss from toytec. The guys at toytec were very helpful and all parts came from them.

Now got to find somewhere to get it dirty.

I noticed that my front end has settled quite a bit and raked about 1 inch. if you want it level, youll probably need to remove the third leaf...

Im keeping mine this way though! i like a little rake to it!

    Great truck BTW! looks awesome!

Yeah, I actually wanted to maintain factory stance/rake. Plan on getting another boat in the spring and would rather it sit level when loaded. Will have to keep an eye on it over the next few thousand miles.

I just installed the OME kit with the softer valving and I think they ride great. They absorb bumps way better than the stock sport suspension yet they are still firm. I highly recommend them.

Didn't notice it yesterday, but in the 20+ mpg range I've got some vibration going on now. Sounds like directly under the console.

Anyone else having theirs do it?
    Related to the diff drop?

Next time you notice the vibration put it in 4 wheel drive and see if the vibrations stop. If so it's most likely your drivers side carrier bearing.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...differential-bearing-vibration-thread.152173/

A 2nd gen thread but it still applies. Also, diff drops aren't needed on 2nd gen and up tacomas. They just pivot the diff and give no real CV angle assistance. You can find threads on the subject.

Did you ever get to get measurements? I was wondering what the 888s will give you liftwise.

Not yet. Trying to get this nasty drive line vibration figured out. The front is coming down. waiting on a 3 degree shim and going to pull out the 3rd leaf. If that does not fix it I'm going back stock. I hope it does not come to that.

I'll try and get at least a front measurement today.

Good luck with the vibration. I'm actually thinking of doing a spacer lift first to make sure i dont have any vibration issues before dumping a ton of money on a suspension lift. Prob a waste of money.

Installed Monday. So far 23.5" fronts, 25" rear center hub to fender.

Plan to take the 3rd leaf out of the dakars soon.
