I'm thinking it was oil based. I didn't come off very easily with water once it started drying.

then you probably screwed. only way is chemicals and I don't know how they will react with plastic, most likely not good. maybe its easier to get new plastic piece? or clean it with chemicals and then paint it?

Take it to a professional detailer. Be surprised at what a pro can do.

We found the person that did it. We'll give them the option to pay for all of our vehicles to be professionally detailed or we are pressing charges :D

If you have proof, I don't know why you aren't pressing charges and still making them pay. Just asking them from paying won't stop them from doing it again. If they did pour paint all over your trucks, the color correction the detailer will do is still going to remove some clear coat away if they can get it perfect. I don't know the whole story behind this. If it's on the hood and windshield only...the hood will be the most difficult... glass should be easy to remove paint. Hood should cost couple hundred to correct...then if you decide to do the whole truck can run $600 to $1000 depending on the amount of time.

So how did you find out it was the correct person...they had a can of paint in hand the next day in the field or caught vandalizing another vehicle?

It was a disgruntled next door neighbor that we've had multiple issues with. Found the paint spilled next to their garage which is enough of a reason for the police to search their garage. It's an 85 yr old woman who is on the verge of insanity. Fortunately I was able to wash the paint off the body while it was wet so that should be okay. Just have to get it off the windshield and the area around the wipers. We will be moving forward with pressing charges. She did it to 5 other cars on the street as well...

Hopefully the charges and conviction will put her in a safe place to protect her from herself.

No disrespect or trying to bicker... but spilled paint can and even if it's the same brand ... it's not enough proof. Filming her in the act or having a witness (multiple) would be the way to catch and help the mentality lady. Even if the paint belonged to her, attorney can argue that the garage was left open and someone else took the paint and poured it. Saying you found spilled paint is not enough evidence... or I don't know if that's enough probable cause for a warrant. But if you got her to admit and to pay...then the best result is to get compensated and hope she doesn't do it again. If you want to pursue the matter... need concrete evidence... unless AZ is a bit different than other states.

Spent 8 hours yesterday washing, claying and cleaning the undercarriage of the truck; with plans to polish and seal today. Last night the neighbors had a bonfire and there is soot all over the tacoma this morning... back to square one.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
true, even after having loads of circumstantial evidence you still have to see the person in the act or have a witness to the act of vandalism or it didn't happen. I know this when I came out one morning and my trucks driver door was caved in, I knew a newspaper delivery truck dropped off papers across my street backed out and went up the street, had white paint on my blue truck, went to the newspaper place found out what number truck delivered those papers that day it had my blue paint and a dent in its rear quarter panel, called the cops they made a report, went to court brought the cop too, driver was there with a lawyer, judge asks me did you see it happen or have a witness? no , then it never happened. better off to just lie and say yes I did see him hit me if I was to do it again.

You know damn well a full detail takes more than 1 full day, my only regret is not getting it into the garage.

Admittedly, I was not sober. I still blame you because your 25 hour detail inspired all this nonsense.

11 years of sun seems to have taken its toll on my hoodscoop, the plastic insert (removable) is peeling. The clearcoat is bubbling and has seen better days, does anybody have any suggestions...?

I called a few local body shops and they quoted me a few hundred dollars and gave the impression it was not even remotely worth their time, ok.
A new SWB hoodscoop from toyota is like $300 :frusty:

does anybody have any suggestions before its really too late? Is it possible to peel off the clearcoat and put a new coat on?

This picture was like 5 months ago, it looks worse now. Thanks guys

All ready to late once you hit clear coat failure. Check around online bet you can find the part cheaper.
