Never done any more than a basic field strip, and bolt/carrier disassembly. Spray the lower out with some cleaner, compressed air and then oil lightly.

I have many things to learn. I will never claim to know what i'm doing.

Depends on if you're shooting steel or brass, shooting at a range and staying clean or out in the dirt/dust/sand etc. Me personally, I just shoot brass, I'll go 300ish rounds in between cleanings.

Everything other than the barrel....pretty much whenever i get around to it. Or change something. I have no set schedule. Usually ends up being ~500-1000 rounds. And even then its usually just a wipe down of the BCG. The barrel ends up getting bore snaked or patches run through it every ~100-150 rounds mostly cause Ill notice a drop in accuracy (when shooting for groups). Same with pretty much all my guns though. I dont clean them till they need it or I change something and need to clean them.

Some guns I do clean after each range trip....but those are the ones I only shoot once or twice a year or guns im shooting mil-surp ammo (mosins)

Chances are that you are never going to remove your pivot pins after you have installed them. Even during maintenance, cleaning or painting. When changing out buffer tubes & end plates you will still keep the pin in.

No specified round count, if it's dirty I clean it, it rarely gets cleaned.
I've put ~700 rounds through my SBR and only lightly cleaned it, when I get a suppressor I'll be cleaning it more thoroughly and more often but it runs fine dirty and I won't accept a gun that won't so I just let it stay dirty.

Im having an issue sighting in my gun.

    - DPMS Oracle AR-15
    - Magpul MBus sights

Got the sights installed. Groups where shooting high. I raise the front sight pin. Shooting lower now, but still to high. Raise the front pin even more still not shooting low. Now I have no more room to raise the pin without it being completely un-threaded. The rear sight cannot be adjusted vertically. Opinions?

Could just be you being inconsistent with your technique/form. Are you using a rest? Are you shooting sitting down or prone?

No rest. Shooting standing up at an indoor range.

Grab a chair & shoot from a bench/table or go prone if you are allowed. Relax, be patient and just work on consistent breathing ,trigger squeeze, & point of aim. Get good groups & adjust accordingly.
Most likely its you & not your equipment. Wish I could help more , but its hard cuz there are so many variables.

I've got the technique down and have great grouping. I've been shooting guns for over 20 years. My Indoor range won't allow sitting or prone.

Guess I'll drive out to the outdoor range next week and get a bench.
