Installed my new bed stiffeners from Total Chaos. I'm really happy with them. Beautifully made, nice welds, perfect fit. I don't like to buy anything I can make, but I couldn't make these this nice.

I strapped down a dresser, and they are very solid with no flex. getPart.jpg

Are the side steps for 2nd gens the same as 3rd gens?

95 percent sure they are. Was the first thing I did to my truck, so it's been a while...

I grew up on Long Island NY, recently found a set of smittybuilt steps, look just like yours, out in Queens NY and had them dropped off at my parents house. Got a good deal on them so bought them pretty much sight unseen and hope they fit lol. They were on a late year 2nd gen for a short time.

Well that answers that question. I was wondering if the top tray would fit with the divider, thanks for posting.

Ok guys, there is definitely more power with the regear! It does drive way better than it did before. I definitely hold sixth gear much better. Yesterday when I was on the highway I was driving into a hell of a strong headwind for about 90 miles so trying to hold 75 to 80 miles per hour definitely Road in 5th gear a bit. And my gas mileage pretty much sucked! But without the regear, I would have been in 4th gear most of the trip probably. As far as gas mileage it seems that I will get 18 plus miles per gallon if I am in 55-65 mph range, but running 70-78 mph, the gas mileage isn't all that great. I'm assuming aerodynamics with the lift throws that way out of whack. So regearing for gas mileage is never probably going to give you back your money. But if your truck is constantly fishing for gears on the highway in normal weather conditions then the reager is definitely worth it. Tomorrow morning I will be heading back south, hopefully with a Tailwind, I will see if the results are any different.

Ecgs bushing install because ive finally had enough of those bad vibes. Axle was showing wear with only 16k due to excessive play in axle. Probably shouldve grabbed an axle too since they arent too expensive but i wasnt expecting to see any wear.20161112_130419.jpg

More details on this please. Very concerning on a brand new truck.

Theres a million threads on the needle bearing in the front differential. It causes a droning humming most noticable under even load around 45mph. Wont actually break but it is really annoying and gets worse the more a truck gets lifted. Im about 2-2.5" up and it happened even when stock. Poor design, has been an issue for years.

But the moment i installed axle after bushing all the play was gone. Everything is tight and hopefully findout soon how much better it is. Before i could grab the axle and wiggle it up and down.

I kinda figured that's what you were talking about. I'm lifted 3" with no noise or vibes, only have 2200 miles on my 16 though. Hopefully it stays quiet.

Once you notice, you'll never be able to unhear it. But the bushing completely got rid of my bad vibes:rasta:
