i got this one too. i think i updated the GT first. i formatted the SD then updated the GT through usb and PC, then selected the vehicle. IIRC?

formatting is possibly not required - i did it while troubleshooting and it's actually, probably a bad idea. i mentioned it because i'm not sure if it's required to get the GT to update. maybe try updating the GT through your computer and if it doesn't work you can try again after reformatting.

after reformatting, i think i did:

1: SD card in GT and connect to PC
2: update GT through Light Duty Update Agent (software already installed, rebooted)
3: I think there's some update process that goes down on the GT after it gets the software update
4: After GT does it's update thing you can reconnect and i think you get to the select vehicle bit.

I did a few reboots after installing the software, after getting error message, etc.

I'll give it another shot. Decided to work on the gauge pod. Just one gauge for now. The other one will be here Wednesday.

I didn't end up finishing today due to some family obligations.

I'm on the page of the instructions where it talks about running the pump wiring into the fuse box. I'm going to remove the fuse box and tap that wire underneath vs. using the fuse tap. I want to keep all of my aftermarket wiring as clean as possible.

Started installing this morning. To damn cold to keep going where I live after sunset.

Had to relocate the water pump to clear my winch and get creative with the winch solinoid. Also have to get creative the reservoir and hoses with my blue sea box.

All this trouble with the BD tuning software has me nervous

I think I'll give the folks at Magnuson a call and work through the differences between the current BD tune and the TRD supercharger flash (at one time) available from the dealer. I'm wondering if a flash of the TRD map might be a safer route.

Stupid question... I'd have to do the BD tune, then take my truck in to Toyota to get their turd flash?

dont quote me on it, but I think its ok to drive once installed as long as you dont get into boost or drive crazy...keep it slow and steady and you should be good I "THINK"

Thanks for the data point. I'll invest in a >=10A battery charger.

Are your running a hidden winch? Curious about this setup and your clearance problems.

No. Pelfrey front bumper with a warn 10k.
Honestly I don't see how any winch will work with the location of the the water pump.

Thanks fellas! I do have a dealer who will do it, but the trouble is getting the truck there after I install it. The closest dealer to me is a solid two hours. Not a super long distance, but highway is required.

Ah. Crap. I have an Aluminess bumper which is a little fatter than the Pelfreybilt but I could have similar "unforeseen issues". Any pics of the problem?

Here is the new hood latch support bracket. At the bottom is where the pump is supposed to go. And as you can see...There isn't shit for space of you have a winch. Less than 2".

    image.jpg

My new proposed location will likely be here and I can still use the hose that came with the kit, just flipped and cut. And I can use the 90* elbow the kit comes with (for the electric booster which I don't have) to use on the other end of the water pump. I mocked most of it up without cutting anything and looks like it will work. Just too damn cold outside to keep working.

    image.jpg

I also had to get creative with my solinoid mount.

    image.jpg

I'm not even about to get into the nonsense with my blue sea aux fuse panel. I just removed the whole fucking thing and I'll figure it out later.
