I am proud to have served, but lost hope for the usa until Trump; God bless America and make it great again. rifle pic.jpg

Shawn I too joined to get off the streets, but we chose the path to serve and by doing so, we were rewarded with a home, value and purpose. Do not sell yourself short. There were plenty of other options.truck 131 hunt.jpg

I worked with a MSgt Smithgall, Air Force Security Forces that was at Khobar towers and was one of the first on scene.

I truly understand, I don't consider myself to be in the same class as my grandfather who flew bomb runs over west Germany in his B-17. Or my father who was a PJ and whose motto is "that others may live". I put the uniform on every day in hopes of living up to their honor.

The defense of liberty is at all cost, and is not a vice. I like to believe that modernization and pursuit of justice complement one another, and should be a virtue. Curt USMC

Hell yes he did. 17 missions as a forward gunner and radio operator. He was fluent in 4 languages and came back to get his Doctorate and teach. Greatest man I'll ever know.

I too feel sorta strange when folks thank me for my service. Unless it just in passing, I usually tell them that they don't need to thank me cause I loved every minute of it, but I appreciate it.

I feel exactly like this, Casper. I got drafted, but Nam ended while I was in boot camp. The only 'combat' I experienced was hurry up and wait.

Yesterday at my wife's insistence, we went to Subway and I got a free sandwich. It made me feel like a freeloading chump. I will NEVER do that again.

    IT NEVER ENDS..........
All gave some and some gave all! Don't sell yourselves short, you still answered a call that many cannot. You should all be thanked and honored for your sacrifices for our country. It still catches me off guard when people thank me and it is very humbling. Happy Veterans Day to you all and to the ones who didn't come home we drink a beer and will see you again someday!
