how does one go about removing the twin fold-down rear seats on 2015 sr5. the actual seat part is simple to unbolt, but I'd like to be rid of the fold-down headrests and need to know how to remove the entire plastic panel the backrests are molded onto. thanks

The headrests don't fold down. Could you take a picture of what you're referring to?

They do fold down, at least on +12 tacomas. The headrests come out just like the front headrests. There's a button where one of the posts goes into it. Push the button then lift the headrest out.

And on some they are a bitch to get out. I had to have the dealer get mine out so I could do my Clazzio's. And then they were almost as impossible to get back in.

I remember people talking about theirs being tough to get out. Mine all pop out really easy.

Double Cab or Access Cab? If it's the latter, there's a thread on TW (title is '09+ rear headrest removal') with a link to a thread on toyotanation with info on how to remove them.

The same shit everyone else has.
On an access cab, the whole back "seat" panel pops off. There are 2 bolts that hold the each head rest on.

If they're "folding backwards" towards the rear window, they're in backwards. Use a small screw drivers to press the release and they'll come out pretty easily. Check your manual for more information.

The rear seat bottoms come out with two bolts a side - easy stuff.
