Hope this doesn't occur to mine as I live in Hawaii and if I have to ship back to them it's gonna get very costly! Looking at the pics that u posted when u got them the lower spring seat area looks correct, for our 1st gen taco's

Same length as my old ones. Definitely not 2nd gen. Same coil as delta, Bennett, and ice horse. With the same amount of threads. Granted delta and ice horse have bumpers and winches but ice horse has a tube bumper. Shouldn't change anything that much.

I just can't wrap my head around why Bennett has more preload and is just fine....maybe they settle more than I thought? I was thinking like 1/4"....

Maybe I got a new version? And maybe I could run less preload and gain same lift? IDK...a whole nother day of messing with it will tell.

I think u r correct with poss 1/4-1/2" settling but 2" is a lot . Was the shocks real stiff on ride or diff to get mounted ? Just speculating if somehow having some form of hydrolock

Was stiffer than I anticipated. But not much different from last setup. I'm thinking once they're not sitting so high I'll get a much better ride.

Never heard of hydro lock in a shock. Would assume that means water got in?

My lower ball joints look like they're in alot of pain. Hope I don't ruin them riding 15-20 miles like this....I had no other choice.

No it's where the nitrogen is some how trapped where it doesn't belong or the other extreme they over charged the pressure , now these are all speculation . No personal experience with the issues u r having . Diff to diagnose problem with written text only vs visual.

Not likely. They were doing just fine with3" of lift just before I installed these. It has to be too much preload....

Can't imagine they would leave ADS like that. I'm sure they test them somehow before shipping.

Well I'll work on it in the morning. Taking the preload out will probably fix it. I just can not imagine that I would have half the threads showing as other people which is what gets me.

I also wanted to avoid putting preload on them. So I want it to sit 3.25 so it will settle to ~3....but I'll have to do what I can and deal with the possibility of adding preload in the future.

So did u have to remove shocks to lower the setting and use spring compressor at all ?

I rented a spring compressor from autozone but didn't use it and didn't want to. They're dangerous and I don't think the auto zone ones can even handle a 650lb spring. And they came directly from ADS. I imagine all orders are direct shipments no matter who you go through.

I just took the unball apart, moved it up then adjusted with upper and lower mounts on shock.

Anybody have any idea how much settling I should expect out of these?
