Anyone know where to order tires from for the best price? More specifically toyo open country?

 

And on another note does anyone live in West Seattle that has a blue taco with a shell and lots of ARB stuff?

 

A bargain! And domestic! Sadly, the divorce would cost more than the truck, so I'm sticking with the Taco for now..
The Taco I'm having a hate relationship with right now because the f ing cv shaft won't come out.
Anyone have an idea? I've tried the slide hammer, a 24" crow bar, prying, praying and swearing to no avail. I'd really like to do the job myself, but am on the verge of just installing the new wheel bearing spider and seals and having someone else do the diff bushing.
Appreciate any help on this.

I had issues pulling mine out as well Tom. I would just go ahead and pry then tap back the dust shield into place...if your replacing your wheel seals anyways then pry on....

 

Nitto and toyo are the same company. If your set on toyo at the check out the Nitto version. I got 40k out of them on my 4runner easy...

 

Specifically what did you use to pry? I'm having trouble getting purchase to be able to pry really hard.
Also, what happens to the C clip inside the diff? Does it stay seated, ar fall into the bottom?
Also, is it as hard to get The shaft back in?

Heard good things as with many tires but deciding factor I like the look of the R/T's. I checked with Les Schaub just wondering if there was cheaper than $355/tire and Im gonna go 285/70/R17

Seated.. no just slide it in, slide the other end in the hub and tap it in with a mallet. If you have a cold chisel you can wedge it out as well... I used 2 brybars and levered one off the other. Don't remember about the c clip... I want to say it stays in.

 

My brother ran the toyo at tires and he got 40k out if them as well..

 

Look for your size on tread depot and then print out the price, take it to discount tire they will order the toyos and match that price.

 

Tread depot has them for $298/tire and free shipping plus $30 off a set of 4.

 

Not to say that this would help but on the 1st gens, the C clips is holding the axle into the diff.
My buddy used an carpenters pry bar (thin) between the shield and the diff housing and hit the pry bar with a rubber mallet.

 

Same with the ge n 2. I'm going to try Alex's double pry bar tomorrow. I'll let you all know
