3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Hi all,

Ordered my OR DCSB on October 3rd. Was told the production will be November 4 from the plant in TX. Received a call on November 5th saying my truck will be ready for pick up on the 8th. Placed a deposit for the order at Toyota Carlsbad in Southern California.

 

What kind of spray paint did you use? Thanks!

 

Mine stuck again just fine! While I was waiting to get the letters back from the paint shop I just put some masking tape over the letters so the

well when I painted the letters black I just used some normal black Ace hardware paint... When I color matched the letters I had my buddy that owns a auto body paint shop paint them for me

 

Nice, I am glad I ordered QS. My wife is not so sure.

 

Couple of randoms over the last month or so. I have been putting some thought into a new grill but might leave that for later and add some skids over the winter. For one reason or another, it wouldn't be as much fun if I didn't analyze it to death first.

 

And they look much better in person. I have never had so many compliments on a vehicle's color. She'll come around.

 

Congrats on the order! I have a 17 trd sport dcsb mt qs that should ship on the Thursday and should be here between the 18th and 22nd. Been waiting since beginning of October .

 

My wife hasn't, but it's my truck. She does like it when she is out driving and sees me- quicksand easily stands out from evey other color- truly outstanding.

 

Mine arrived, almost a month early. I love the color in person. The graphite interior is much darker than the '16 AC OR that I test drove in June which is fine with me.

It's is my favorite color this year, but this is the reason I did not get it. It sure stands out, and I'm a low key kinda brotha.

I thought the Inferno was spectacular and really stood out, so ordered mine in Quicksand because it was kinda low-key. That's funny when you think about it.

 

yes, quicksand blends in and stands out at the same time....
I had to buy a truck asap and did't have time to do much research. The local Toyota dealer had one vehicle on the lot the day I went. When I saw it, I almost fell over- never saw anything like it. I thought it was one of the nicest looking trucks I had ever seen - ironically, it was also on the dealers lot for months. The salesman indicated that the color was not "popular" and I think I got a good deal on it for that reason.
I have never seen another on the road here in New Jersey (yet).
It's one of those things, you either "get" it or you don't.
Still could not be happier- this color kicks ass!

 

Soon you will, I work in NJ and travel the Tri-State Area... It won't be often, the Tacoma is my second vehicle, but I do plan on bringing it to work on occasion.

 

I just realized that when I took my TACO to Taco Belle it is almost the same color as a crispy taco shell...

 

I have a 17 qs trd sport DCSB coming in this week and I'm in NJ.
