Pretty much the same here. Started the process in about early Oct. Received my final offer document from VW (Not dealer). Signed, Notarized, Scanned and uploaded. I had to check the box again for buy back and choose check or direct deposit. (No surprise it said checks will take longer and direct deposits will get earlier appointments.) Page now shows something like "Received, pending review". My original estimated date in Oct was 15 Dec.

    - Top-of-the-line 2013 4Dr Gulf with 90-95k miles: Buy-back is $15,125 for the vehicle + $6,011 in restitution = total $21,136.
    • Plus the $1,100 they gave us last winter! (I spent that all on tires and routine maint. so a wash in my book).
    • Sep'12 I paid ~$29k incl. ~4.5% in taxes and fees So I'm at a spend of ~$150/month for 52 trouble-free months of ownership.
    • If this S didn't happen I would have been lucky to get ~11k cash, maybe a little more on another VW trade.

    - FWIW, I spoke with the VW "Hot-line" and a few people I trust at the dealer:
    • It's going to be close if I go over my estimated 90-95k mile window for a mid Dec turn in date. Mileage deductions are in 5,000 mile increments. If I go over 90-95k into 95-100k my buy-back $ will go down $240. (Not bad)
    • Make sure all 7 pages of the signed and notarized agreement are scanned in a single file for upload
    • "Ambassadors" are moving into dealerships in the next 1-2 weeks. My turn in date may even be moved up (If I want)
    • Everyone is getting an offer based on mint condition. (Everyone) Car only has to be able to move under its own power and can not have a "Totaled" title tied to it.
    • Small risk: if car gets totaled tomorrow, what with the ins. pay? Current insurance value will be much less since the VW offer is based on an Aug'15 perfect condition value. But you will still get the restitution $ (~$5k minimum)
    • We have until Sep'18 to cash in. A buddy of mine is going to roll the dice assuming the car is not totaled or gets a $$$$ break-down. He plans to cash-in at the last month. In theory, since he won't go over the miles, he will get the same $, but get to squeeze another 20 months out of it.
It's been a great car and maybe because I got the best years out of it with no $$$ repairs. The ~45mpg didn't hurt either. I kinda wish this happened in 17 or 18, but cool, this is putting me in a new truck

Proof that VW is making this process as difficult as possible, putting multiple hoops in front of loyal owners hoping they will get frustrated and just go away, or will miss the entire buyback because they are unable to deal with the process. I am considering keeping a passenger seat or two as retribution for their feet-dragging.

I was think that and possibly the hood or maybe even the steering wheel, I can only imagine their faces when they try to move it from where I park it with a pair of vice grips on the steering shaft

That's awesome! I wonder why I've been stuck with accepted docs for so long?

What year is your VW? I was told by VW claims, they are doing claims on older ones first, even though the website says in the order they are received. I've been doing the online claims forms as they have been available from the start and check it about every morning.

I have a 2012. I've done all of my submitting almost the moment the option was available. The docs were approved about a month ago and I've been waiting since the approval for any type of update.

I'm in the same but with a newer car. I called the hotline, but the lady gave confusing info. She said the final offer came from the dealer after they inspect the car. But, according to these guys, it's will appear on the portal? either way, my 10 BUSINESS Days was up a while ago and she said I shouldn't expect anything soon. I would've been open to getting the allroad, but after this, fuck 'em. This is my 7th VW product and most likely the last, and I've had a few expensive Audi as well as the 4 VW's. 3 under the TDI scandal, my passat, a Q7 TDI, and a Toureg TDI.

The final offer comes trough the claims portal, not the dealer.

FYI... my TDI is a 2013.

Don't think build dates have anything to do with claims priority.

I got final offer last week. Notary screwed up, so I had to redo. Uploaded last night and got confirmed appointment today for 15Dec. Hint: my first choice dealer (near work) next avail. was 21Dec. The Appt. scheduler lets you search other dealers within a radius. Some were booking into Jan. The smaller VW dealer near my house was actually open a week earlier than the mega dealers. The Toyota Dealer also advised me that my new '17 OR should be ready 1st or 2nd week of Dec. So timing should work out perfectly (Hoping it's on the Sat after the 15th, so I don't have to get a $20k bridge loan... fingers crossed!)

Yea, the TDI was sweet (~45mpg), fast enough and VW amenities and user interfaces about perfect. I knew there were long-term repair ($$$) risks with a VW. So I will have driven it almost 4& 1/2 trouble free years / 91,000 miles with only minimal maint. Original plan was to keep it for at least 10 years, but the buy back offer was just too good to pass up. ($21k when before this S hit the fan, I probably would have only got $13k on a trade)

The generous VW $, plus a great deal on a special order TRD-OR affords me the option to get in the Tacoma I always wanted

Turning mine is on 12/15 as well. I would have scheduled sooner, but I'll be in NOLA for a week on business. No real plans for my money, as I already have my Taco. I'll just throw it into the emergency fund for now. Pretty sure I'm going to need a roof within the next couple of years.

I loved our VWs owed a gulf, fox, new nettle, Jetta wagon and would have another if the had manual trans on the lot when we bought my wife's last ride

Did you all notice, everyone is getting buy back based on perfect condition value as of Oct 2015? My guy was very clear, it only has to be able to drive under its own power... Good for some people, but damn, I always keep mine in mint condition, hell even paid ~$250 this summer to have paintless door ding repairs. Kinda wish I could have gotten a few more bucks for it, but still a good offer.

FWIW: I dropped ~$900 on 5 new high performance tires this summer. They are still in great shape, plus I have a extra 5th wheel. I'm going to go to the local used tire place and see if they have some old ones they can swap out for me (+ cash). Also, I'm pretty sure these are going to be scrapped or exported to Brazil. Don't want to screw the next guy, but I am tempted to keep the owners manual. When my 2009 Audi got totaled I got like $60 on eBay for the owners manual(s)
