    So I test drove a 2017 V6 Double Cab SR5. I currently have a 2015 SR5 Access Cab V6.
The 2017 had a very nice ride, loved the interior, the dash etc. I really like the fact that all switches were illuminated and there is an indicator light showing when the fog light are on.Don't have these in my 2015.
What I didn't like was no grab rail on the driver's side like on my 2015.
Overall I liked the truck better than mine.I like the interior much more and I like the look of the exterior as well.
I wasn't too crazy about the motor/transmission though. Seemed to be shifting constantly.
One dealer is giving me $27,000 for my truck in trade, nothing off MSRP.
Another is taking $2027 off MSRP,hasn't seen my truck yet to give a trade in value.
    Both 2017 trucks are identical.

If you don't like the tranny go back and test drive the manual. 11,000km on mine and haven't regretted it once. drives fine in 1st gear during bumper to bumper traffic, if that's a worry to you.

Wow,that's a nice deal. Did you have a trade in or was it a clean deal? I don't like the way dealers play with trade in value based on the price of the new truck.
No manuals on the lot only autos.

I don't think I'd want to downgrade to the 3.5 from a 4.0. I'd keep the 2015. The new shiny thing is always right around the corner tempting us. That tranny would drive me nuts.

I took an extended test drive of a 2017 OR, had it for 2 days, it was an auto that was constantly up and down shifting, I did like the ride and interior over my 15 except for no grab handle, if I were to get one it would be a Manual. The dealer had my 15 for those 2 days and it got damaged in the service dept, I am considering asking them to deduct the amount of that from the price of a new one.

Test drove one this week as well.

Tranny shifted very smooth...couldn't even tell when shifted. Liked the sport mode too, seemed like the best of both worlds. Don't like the shift points when it is on full auto, choose them yourself. Being a long time manual fan, was shocked how well I liked the auto.

I dunno, not sure why people are complaining, seemed fine to me.

I did an extended test drive in a 2017 OR (which I later bought) and thought the transmission was just fine. I've owned three manual cars, and 1 DSG car, and the auto in this truck did not bother me one bit.

You can't beat the VW DSG for quick shifts, but in full auto mode its pretty horrible, especially at parking lot speeds.

the transmission "learns" over time... I only have 2 tanks of gas through mine and already I can feel a MASSIVE difference from the test drive. much better now!

Do you need to know, or care?
    Nice, congrats!!

Did you try driving it with the ECT on? Helps to cut down some of the shifting around city streets.
