So, dude, @Nicklovin Nick, what's the update with that CEL? You never updated @TXpro4X4 Bryan and I?! I'm assuming the CEL never came ON? The other scantool that I have shows ALL monitors that are still under "TEST", which is what I like about that particular scantool.

As far as running the scantool with the engine ON, I've never had any issues with either one and have done that ON/OFF for some number of years now whenever I am wondering about certain aspects of the engines multitude number of sensors that will only trip the "idiot light" (a.k.a. CEL) when something goes bad. I just recently had to smog my truck and just happened to have the scantool monitor my trucks ECU while I was driving it before taking it to go get it smogged.

Either way, the key thing to do before taking just about ANY vehicle in for a smog TEST is:
    1) CHANGE the air filter!!!
    2) CHANGE the oil filter!!!
    3) CHANGE the oil!!!
    4) get that CAT converter F'N NICE AND HOT!!! Take that F'N BIT** out on the freeway and just FLOOR THAT F'N GAS PEDAL!!! :D:thumbsup::burnrubber:
    5) Finally, get off of the freeway and go take it to wherever you are going to do your smog TEST. The faster you get there and the quicker you can get your TEST done, the BETTER your chances!!!

Something to "take away from this", don't be a F'N douche bag and say, "I don't need to change the air filter..."?! :argue: Or be some dumba$$ cheap FU** and do as little as possible to said items above!!! Do those simple things and the chances of you passing smog are very HIGH!!! Even when my scantool is "GREEN", I STILL do all of the above just to ensure I will get really good readings and results and that nice shiny sticker to go on to my vehicle license plate!!!:fistbump::cheers: Or, you can *COUGH* "pay for your tags"?! *AHEM* *CLEARS THROAT*

ALL of us, I'm sure, WANT to HELP YOU PASS SMOG!!! o_O:thumbsup::fistbump: I'm at the point myself, to where I want to put a very nice NATO round through that CEL that keeps coming on???!!! My "762's" are ready to go, LMAO!!! I'm pretty sure @icetreye Kevin will assist me in doing this!!!:rofl::rofl::infantry: Not even my vehicle bro, but you're cutting it a bit too close to getting this thing resolved. Just my take on it!!!

Finally, when you have a chance Nick, I would like to connect the scantool again just to see where things ultimately stand. THAT is up to you?! NOT the day OF the smog TEST!!!

That I know of, it is coming up here within a month or so... may be???!!! All I know is that his CEL is still giving him issues since that one wire was cut and Bryan noticed, when he took the crimp connector apart, that the wire was infact some sort of coax type cable and, well, ALL of the "wires" were simply "rat tailed together" and then crimped?! :eek:o_O Essentially shorting the center conductor and, most likely, the GND return?! So Bryan had very little room and wire to work with, LMAO!!! He REALLY did do his best with what carnage remained, LMAO!!! So, I erased the code(s) with my scantool (i.e. there was only one a, P0325 "knock sensor"), re-checked the scantool, and confirmed that no codes remain. Nick now has to drive the truck to see where things stand at this point.

    My pleasure as always!
Any word on Oscar getting home in one piece ?

Oh and @Nicklovin the bike is already under way. Looks like someone cross threaded the spark plug and gave up, so it's been retapped and sitting tight now. just waiting on the battery to get charged enough to at least get it turned over.

Again guys we had a great time and just wish we got there sooner for all the other members and shenanigans ! until next time!

I specifically remember you telling me that your smog was due pretty soon? Sometime beginnging next year? You having a CEL and taking this long to try to figure it out is too close, but hey, I shouldn't be all that worried as it isn't my vehicle! Btw, some CEL's should NOT be taken lightly! Just saying dude, but it is your money and your vehicle in the end! I have my own shi* to worry about, LOL!!!

So, did that CEL ever turn back on yet?

:bananadance:saweet, my friend owes you big time :fistbump:
Think you're going a little :der::rofl:. My smog isn't until next June, and that's IF they make me smog it when I get the registration again. It's been a couple years since the dmv made us smog it so I figure it's due to a smog :notsure:
Although they could just not ask for it again
