Toyota is the best auto-maker company by far.

Personally, I believe the government, since it owns other car makers, are finding the smallest flaws in Toyota vehicles and making Toyota address the problem. I'm sure GM vehicles have bigger safety problems than are Toyotas do.

    hi....
    chadmb2003....
I am not happy with the news reports here in Ottawa Ont. Canada when I here simple statements like " and I can't legally qoute the statement" that Toyota rose too fast etc....what S***. From a Gm Spokes person.....or some one referencing one of the 3 big auto makers. The big three have made many biggies (errors)......don't you think....Toyota has gotten many praises as they should have......they have earned that.....but to have an issue once or so.. etc...just once and the whole world or the big three would love to just trounce on them....not fair....
    So....lets get behind Toyota

I totally support Toyota and will continue to buy Toyota. I got so many phone calls and text messages from concerned friends and family but I am confident that Toyota has our best interest in mind.

    Group hug?

A couple folks need to take off the tinfoil hats. The big bad g'ment isn't trying to kill Toyota. That would be idiotic. They employ as many people in this country as GM does, if not more.

As for Toyota's recent "problems", one is legitimate (the one that has caused sales stoppage) and one is made up (floormats lulz). If you're too fucking stupid to install your floormats correctly and die, frankly I'm glad you're out of the genepool. Unfortunately, you've probably already reproduced.

Any car company known for quality is going to take an inordinant amount of shit when they have a hiccup. Toyota is essentially the golden standard of auto companies...they're bigger than GM, and they made money doing it. Even in the late 90s, when GM was at the peak of its power riding the wave of cheap gas and SUV popularity, they were still only marginally solvent.

The entire industry is rubbing Toyota's face in these items because when you're the king, everyone wants to take you down.

Frankly, if you read what the actual "problems" are, they really aren't a big deal. You won't get love tapped on the rear bumper and then trapped in your car to burn to death in a gasoline fire, a la Ford Pinto.

Saying "I support company X" on a forum dedicated to one of their products is just plain silly. We know you do. You bought a Tacoma.

    Hi jandrews.........
You are right ....and when you say we are talking to Toyota cruisers here you are right......I guess I wish I could get to all the other Toyota clients....the lady who has been scared by journalistic fear etc.....when we are dealing with minimal percentage of actual problems.
Toyota has stated what to do in this issue......and if everyone just follows the procedure set up, go to dealer, etc ....all should be safe. I beleive that of course.
    So lets go ....Toyota...yeh....Toyota

i just look at a new Ford or Chevy or GM and get sick thinking about the problems that would lie ahead, one of my gunnys just bought one. thats sad too because I loved the 70's series Fords. However none of those auto makers make a vehicle anymore that will last as long, have less mechanical problems or hold value even close to a Toyota. If your product is awesome then little things like this wont matter in the long run.

    GOOOOOOOOO TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't entirely agree with that. Look at who is running the "big bad govt" currently and I don't think this is beyond the realm of possibilities. How many people Toyota employs here is a small factor since Toyota profits go to Japan. I personally have no problem with that but I can certainly see why a marxist would.

No, Toyota profits go to shareholders, which are worldwide in scope.

People really really need to stop thinking that companies are based in single countries. It doesn't work that way any more. Multi-nationals don't need countries to operate in, which is why corporations are now more powerful than governments.

I'm not touching the attempted nod towards the current administration/congress being socialist, because if you told an actual socialist that, they would laugh you out of the room or get offended, one of the two.

Our government, depending on which "party" (as though there's a difference) is in office, is either corporatist or corporatist. The only real distinction is which bloc of corporate power they bow to - one is completely owned by the military-industrial side, and the other kowtows to the medical/pharmaceutical lobby. Banking has them both by the balls.

We really don't need to go political here. Let's just try and get back to why shows of support in internet forums are silly.

I like the demo on national news last night where they guy showed removing the key from the ignition while moving & talking about being able to turn the car off and still be able to get it over to the side of the road and stop.......Hey stupid, the steering wheel locks when key is removed!

yes but youre not supposed to remove it ALL the way just turn to the acc position ahahah or to neutral for a bit while you use your brakes to slow you down... most vehicles today have a govenor so you dont over redline your engin and blow it so you would be fine.

and even if you did blow the engine who cares your still alive vs the car running out of control. I think Toyota is doing a great job stepping up to fix there problem seems like might have been a few other auto makers *cough* ford *cough* that just let theres catch on fire like it wasn't a problem (if you dont know what im talking about look up ford cruse control fire)
