So whats an honest opinion on the difference between P/C/E rated tires? I have R16 wheels, so there aren't a lot of ATs in 265/75 that are C rated, and most of the ones raved about come E and MAYBE P rated.

This is my first truck, and most opinions in the 3rd Gen section seem pretty extreme.

Most common will be C and E... E being more plys and also heavier... a little decrease in MPGs and possibly a harsher ride (depending on your PSI).

If it were up to me, I would be Cs over Es. but for my KO2s in the size I'm running, only Es are made....

It all depends on what you use your truck for. For towing and hauling, you may get away with p rated tires, but it will feel spongy and have sway to them. They are the most comfortable riding tire. C and E can handle higher pressure and more weight. They are heavier, and have less give in them. That is why they usually have deeper treads than P rated tires, since the sidewalls give less and accelerate wear.

For best riding and best fuel economy, get P rated.
For heavier loads, stronger tire/sidewalls, or just for plain looks while sacrificing mpg, get C/D/E rated tires.

I understand what the difference between them is, meant to ask more what opinions on ride quality is for E if I need to get them. I'll be off roading with the truck, both here and Colorado if the tires are still good before I need a new set.

Don't mind taking a clip in MPG if it means not blowing a sidewall with weak sidewalls / miserable ride quality (my tolerance is high as a prior Subie owner tho).

I have 10 ply and I don't think there is a big difference in ride quality on road except the truck struggles up some of those steep H3 inclines. They're heavy as fuck. Off-road, I have a little more peace of mind if the sidewalls rub on something.

Tearing out my homemade BHLM headlights and my HIDs for Hawaii legal BHLM lights and going back to stock bulbs.

Are the sylvania or Phillips blue bulbs illegal?

I guess you got lucky, but some Japanese dude with salt and pepper hair was pretty close to getting DDT'd thru the recon picnic table.

So I'm over visiting family again and i get graced with two poor Tacoma owners in the same day. Lifted first gen heading east on the H1 near Kapolei with his in-bumper rear LED bumper lights on. No way the driver didn't realize they were on.

Then in Kapolei mid second gen, dark gray, lifted. Failed to adjust his lights for the new height, and he swapped the front's with hid's... Maybe some TW owners could spread common sense to these other owners? Every time i come over i just shake my head.
