fun start to the weekend having my ring and pinion blow up. busted 4 teeth and damaged anothe on the pinion. 10 teeth chipped and 5 more damaged in the ring.

unfortunately it shifted my focus today instead of my high output alternator and URD 2.85 pulley, i had to remove my 3rd member which killed my schedule.

on a better note... @CRILL had a softopper for sale and met up with him to start the new look for the rear. goal eventually will be to modify it so the tent can stay on and still have canvas cover. thanks man

first time when re geared i had yukon in the rear. when those went i got nitro gears. i think those were the ones i blew up in VT. then these were also nitro. last two were built by ecgs.

Softopper is cool idea. I haven't seen how they mount, could you just use typical bed bars under it?

Flush mount bars, the soft topper rails mounted over the feet of the bars.

Cool. How much space do they need to fold forward? Bob and I both have the tent that is pretty much the same length as the bed (Mt Rainier?) and I'm not sure if there'd be enough clearance

Well you guys have long beds so I couldnt tell you. I always had the back wall of the softopper pinched in between the back track in the bed, helps keeping it in place in the wind. But how I did it was un velcro the back, side snaps and take the softopper off and store on the non fold out side of the bed like pictured

idk man. gettin frustrating. many out there with SC and gears not blowing up. might just be the run of gears from nitro have some bad sets. or maybe it's the building process my ecgs not hitting their marks. we'll see how the next build comes through.

Just wading around the forum and due to Chadspride relentless like pressing found myself here just now. Sorry to see another diff go down. Are you trying ECGS again? I had a problem with ARB locked rear diff they built. It was grinding. I sent it to them 2x and they never figured out what was wrong.

I then sent it to Ken or Zuk at gear installs. He figuted it out in 2 hours, it was the spider gear shims in the ARB itself disintegrating. He also sent complete disassembly and reassembly pictures with all steps included. Including settings, parts used, gear patterns, etc. I'm sure you've heard of him but you might check out his website to see his work..gearinstalls.com

Whenever I talked to Chase at ECGS he was nice and wanted money but never fixed my diff.

    Good luck

When I regeared my truck the guy in the springs said that whoever installed the arb in the front (ecgs) really didn't know what they were doing and all sorts of things where fucked up in it

Sad to hear this about ECGS. They did my diffs. I have a supercharger and also haven't had trouble, but I drive like an old man.
