Any of y'all have a good recommendation for a kitchen knife set? Looking to replace the one we've had for about 7 years.

I used to sell Cutco in college. They're not cheap. But my parents are still using that set 27 years later.

    Sets are wastes of money.

Victorinox Forschner is skookum as hell and priced affordably.

Agreed. I have never purchased a set. Always found mix and match was better. Some models make better knives than others.

In my search for some unique recipes...Im working on my variation for eggroll dip but this looks good.

How to make Soda Pop Jelly:

12 ounces soda pop, any kind
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    3 cups sugar
    1 3-ounce envelope liquid pectin

Combine soda pop, lemon juice, and sugar in a pot. Bring to a boil. Stir in liquid pectin. Bring to a boil again, and boil hard one minute. Remove from heat. Ladle hot jelly into hot jars and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes. This yields around four half-pints.

Dr. Pepper jelly. Root beer jelly. Mountain Dew jelly. Whatever is your favorite soda pop, it can be a jelly.

I bet a ginger ale jelly would be pretty damn good, but I'd want to do this with A&W root beer and orange crush.

yeah I made a small batch of orange crush and its definitely works. I used powdered pectin instead of the liquid but still jelled. Im surprised I havent come across this sooner...

Its exactly like an orange crush minus the carbonation of course. I think the eggroll dip Ive been looking for is a variation of this. Because its the same color.

Only thing I would change is use real lemon juice instead of bottled...as it picks up that bottled taste IMO.

I always get compliments and asked for recipe

I give the recipe, but I usually leave 2 things out.

Then I get the response "hmm mine never turns out like yours"

Baked a chicken after being cold in the shop all day! Mashed tators, carrots and stuffing too.

Well it's that time of year again. Time to start putting the Thanksgiving menu together! I was thinking about stuffing last night and I have some elk and venison sausage which got me to thinking. Any of you folks make stuffing with game meat instead of pork? Any recipes to share? I'm thinking sage is a must but anything else out of the ordinary?

Is it 'game' as long as it has a season to be harvested?

If yes, I make oyster dressing. It's the most amazing thing I've ever learned!
