Quoting my own post here for reference, but finally have driven some gravel roads and gone off the beaten path to make sure that my "mount" didn't shake around too much. Glad to report it's solid as a rock. Only under some really severe washboard does it seem to wiggle to the light output.

    STOCK
    Today was Tacoma day...

The stock headlights that came with my truck are subpar -- Old, yellowed and hazed. I did my best to polish them just to pass saftey here.

    They work, but ...

Found a slightly better stock OEM pair on Kijiji for $50. Still scratched from being on an offroad(ed) truck.... But better than what I have. I started the blacked out HID Morimoto DS2 retrofit.

    The retrofit, all in all, was much easier than I anticipated. Here is the finished project;

Like I said, scratched to $h!t. Considering buffing them out with some 1500 / 2000 grit sandpaper and polish as well.

Because it's Tacoma day, I then installed @Up2NoGood 's heated mirror kit today.

Took about exactly 2 hours start to finish. Nice piece of kit that is well made. Highly recommended!

I FUBAR'D the passenger replacement mirror however. I broke the tabs trying to install the new glass with heating element. Going to have to order a replacement. Reinstalled stock passenger glass for now... Oh well...

Lastly, I installed a Pop N Lock rear tailgate lever/lock and newer backup camera.

Backup camera will be wired to the new android head unit once everything arrives. Need to look at a newer 2nd gen to see how they secured and ran the wiring from the tailgate to the bed. I'd prefer as close to OEM install look as possible.

No vodka was spilled, nothing broke[that can't be fixed]... Somewhat productive day. :burnrubber:

No nothing that fancy. Just a $30 decibel meter from Wal-Mart. I guess I can't say it was exact but I did my best to eliminate all variables from the tests.

I'll give you one guess where the top of that lift is going to go with the door closed if it slips lol.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Any idea what this means for us currently? Does it mean they are extending coverage? Pardon my ignorance. I had CRC applied last year, blew half of it off, and rust, when applying Fluid Film this year. Do I need not worry as much, or should I still anxiously await my frame to rot out and Toyota to do nothing else past the CRC?

Detailed her nice and good. I love the tint. Sure keeps the sun out. And the new wheels drive so much smoother. I bet I'll get better gas mileage. image.jpg
