I got this thread idea from a 4Runner forum, but thought it might work as well for the Tacoma, too.

What are the little things about the truck that we might miss in the manual, or may not even be published?

I'm thinking stuff like turning off the seat belt chime/alarm, and adjusting the bluetooth volume with only the stering wheel controls.

    I'm sure there are others...

Not sure if they're 'secrets', but I didn't notice a few things for quite a while that I either randomly figured out or read about here or at TN:

Steering wheel controls: hold down the track up and down buttons until they beep to change cd's (6-cd changer obviously)

Hold down the mode (I think that's what it's called, the bottom button) button to turn the radio off/on.

The radio stuff is probably in the manual, but I'm sure I'm not the only one to overlook it.

If you're tall like me, you can spin your mirror so the tab is on the top and rotate it up a bit so you don't have a huge blind spot in the middle of your windshield.

    yup just checked its there:D

my "secret" stems around the downhill downshifting the trans will do.

Ever been riding the breaks down a hill and the awesome auto trans does a downshift 1 or 2 gears. Its nice i like it. Now say it flattens out a bit and you dont wanna get back in the gas but you wanna come up from 3rd to 4th, or from 4th to 5th. you can come up one gear at a time by moving the shifter from D to 4 back to D (you can do this quickly like .5 secs) . this will bring the trans up one gear at a time. If you wanna go straight to 5th from what ever gear the trans is engine braking in go from D to N back to D.
