Welcome! this thread tends to die every now and then. But be sure to sub to a few other Ga threads on here.

More details on the truck/what you plan on using the truck for

Replaced my front brakes and rotors yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was. Only thing is when I stop fast, there's like an awful grinding noise...maybe because they're so new :notsure:

Yeah replacing brakes is a fairly easy thing to do. They just need to be broken in, give it time and it should go away

That's what I wanted to hear! Only bad thing is when I took off my front passenger tire, I found 2 screws sticking out of my tire. My tires are getting pretty worn anyway, so this may be just the excuse I need for some new ones :D

Take it easy for about 200 miles, to break in the pads.

It takes some time for a wear pattern to develop - you will be back to normal in no time.

Well, for tires I know I'm going to get a 255/85/16...I love the tall skinny look. I can't decide between the BFG KM2 MT or the Cooper St Maxx AT. I've had Cooper's before and loved them and I have BFG's now and love them. Only downside to the MT's is I drive on the highway about 300 miles a week. Thoughts?

AT, I've seen the KM2 have been getting cut on rocks and stuff and blowing. I'll either get the Cooper AT or MT, or the Hankook MTs not quite sure yet

I would strongly suggest a tire other than Hankook. One of the guys with us in the desert blew 2 tires in 2 days. Needless to say, it was quite a chore getting him tires so he could drive back across the country to go home.

Since then, I have heard of other similar failures.

For my money, BFG rules the roost. Coopers are good, too.

    YMMV

I always try to stick to Coopers or BFG's. The Coopers I had on my last Tacoma looked brand new when I sold the truck 5 years after having it. BFGs everyone knows are the bomb!

Hmm I've never heard that from anybody. I'll look into it more, won't be until tax time that I'll be in the market. This past week I've seen 2 pics of blowouts due to cutting on rock, now granted that was out in Moab haha

Just went to the local tire shop to get my tire plugged and he said neither screw penetrated, so both were able to be pulled without plugging. I also asked him about the 255/85/16's and he said those skinny tires would look terrible and refused to mount them on my truck if I ordered them lol. I showed him a few pics of 1st gens with that tire and convinced him it's gonna be badass. The only tires in that size he could quote me was for a Toyo MT for like $1100. I found the Cooper AT's on Amazon for like $850 with free shipping. He said my BFG's have about 10k left in them, so I'm gonna hold off until I really need them.

Just saying.... The rebound on the shocks in the kit are 18-way adjustable... The amount of drop is also adjustable...
