    I did too. This was posted 4hrs ago by BBC so I'm not quite sure what the "new" news is here. Maybe good news for guys that have had to pay out of pocket for a replacement? :notsure:

    aww man, only frame rust - too bad they won't cover the bed on my 2008 Tundra that is delaminating it is rusting so badly

    I'd bet there will be a lawsuit on that generation in about 5-10 years unless they actually changed the composition of the steel used. Even a small percentage of chromium added would help. Gotta be cheaper then a few billion here and a few billion there spent on lawsuits.

    Gotta figure Toyota fought it tooth and nail. The costs of compiling data and expert witnesses in metallury probably wasn't cheap. 10 mil fighting for a multiple billion dollar lawsuit against a mega company isn't unreasonable when said company doesn't want to admit fault.

    I'm surprised it isn't more. IF you told me I would have to pay $100k in fines, or I could spend $20K on lawyers and possible not pay (or have the overall amount reduced) I would do that in a heartbeat.

    Crazy, I had my '99 Taco until fall of 2015, living where we get a lot of ice and we use a lot of salt, and the frame was fine when I sold it. From the stories you'd think it would have dissolved to dust by then.
