Is it possible to run 285's on a 2017 Tacoma Sport with just a 3" leveling kit without cutting? I'm not going off-road just an everyday driver. I like the look with the 285's but not sure if I shouldn't just go 275's. I'm not really wanting to cut the truck. Maybe just the airdam. Thanks for any help.

Yes, most likely will need to cut the cab mounts back and remove front mud flaps and trim some of the plastic on the bottom of that fender. Have you seen any threads on this topic?

No. I'll just go to the 275's. brich999 Thanks for the Sarcasm. Reminding why I don't join these forums.

Dont let that discourage you brother. It CAN be done. I think you should do the 285's personally. Great looking size tires for the Tacoma.

my 285's rub a little with a 2.5 inch leveling kit. I trimmed the air dam, and the mudflap rubs a little. Might be ok with a 3 inch lift.

are 285s the max you can run, or can 315s be done?

A search would have returned not even exaggerating 10,000 results. There are easily 5 threads a day on this exact tire size

Seriously there are like 1 000 000 000 000 000 threads about 285/70/17 with lift kit etc... Look at the upper right of your screen, there is a tool called search.

It's not that i don't want to help but do a research before starting another threads about something that is answered everyday.

Also it sounds like if you aren't going off road you need to run a $3k proper suspension lift get to maximize performance.

Yes I agree with others, searching would have answered this common question. If you don't teach them they will continue to post and clog threads...

Some of us are big jerks Davincione. Yes, this topic has been researched to death, but we were all new here once. If MPG's are important to you, I'd go with some 265/70/17's, after market rims, and a 1 inch front leveling kit. It will give you an aggressive look, without sacrificing power at highway speeds, and miles per gallon. The pic below is stock suspension with said tires and rims. A 3 inch lift looks awesome, but you pay for it. Good luck with whatever you decide, and WELCOME
