I was getting 18.5 in rush hour traffic with stock setup, now the computer is telling me 15-16. The computer is off because of the tires, so not sure if it's better or worse that what the computer says. I figure probably a 2mpg difference. Also it didn't seem to shift in and out of overdrive as much without the lift and tires. I have a 50 mile one-way commute, so 2 mpg's add up. Also, I'm concerned with issues that may pop up down the road, since I went with a leveling kit, instead of a proper suspension lift. On a side note, I'm short and it's a bitch getting in and out of. May go with adjustable shocks later, so I can play with the lift and see what I like best. Maybe 1 inch front and back and 265's.

Can you do the auto steps that ford f150s have. When you open the door, steps lower, so you can get in?

Those things are something like $1500-$2000 I think. They are cool, and do drop lower. I have a customer with a Chevrolet 2500 with those. Not sure if they are available on Taco's. Even if I had those, I need better MPG's. I knew I wouldn't get great mileage, but I have GOT to get out of the 15-16 range. If I can't, I'm afraid a Canyon Diesel is in my future. I really don't want to do that.

Wait, why would you trade your Tacoma for a Canyon diesel if the lift is killing the MPG?

Wouldn't it make sense to just take the lift off the Tacoma?

Additionally, if you need steps for 3 inch lift, how are the 6 inch Tacoma lift guys getting up there?

That's precisely why I'm going to take the lift off and dropping the tire size. I should be fine once I do that. 15-16 is killing me. 18-19 would be acceptable. Not sure about the 6 inch. I can't imagine a daily driver with a 6 inch lift. My client with the 3/4 truck and 6 inch lift was like driving a crane from the top. I couldn't see any cars when changing lanes. I resorted to just speeding up, turning on my blinker, and hoping for the best when I delivered it to him.

Agree, for me no Tacoma is worth getting 15MPG for. For 15MPG, I want a way more capable truck/luxury car/sports car.

Yep. an F150 eco-boost would be more capable, and comfortable for what I would use it for, I just have always love the Tacoma's. I had a Joe Gibbs Silverado with the 5.3L V8 and a supercharger, and it got the same mileage as this Tacoma, and it was way more fun to drive.

15, lol. My truck is averaging 6-7 right now. 20* mornings and warming up are killing me.
