If you want to get good, learn on the thin stuff, anyone can weld on thick, you learn skills on thin. With a small bottle you will be able to buy instead of lease should be about 70 bucks the first time, and after that just fills.

FWIW I have to have my st maxx's rebalanced almost every time I go "offroad." The stick on weights just absolutley suck ass. I'm sure they try and clean off the surface of the wheel before application but the dirt is probably just one with wheel now lol I lose them all the time and thankfully Discount has lifetime balance and rotation cuz im there so much in the Sumer after the wheeling trips lol

Every year I consider flying back to visit family for Xmas. Every year I do the math and consider the ability to transport 'stuff' and decide I might as well just drive. I should note it's been some years since I actually flew anywhere. This year I looked early. Ooo, round trip for $110 when I looked on Friday and then like $91 today when I went to book? That's way cheaper than driving so I guess I'll just pack light.

Oh wait. Checked bag, $30. Carry-on, $25. :| Initial gut reaction, you bait and switch bastards, forget it. Get over that, $150 is still a deal. Check on shuttle fare down to DIA and back. ~$40 each way.

    I'll just drive. :\

FYI for welding on galvanized, not recommended, especially for just practicing on. Hopefully you had a respirator, or that is not actually galvanized.

Looking for a newer daily driver to cut down unnecessary miles on the taco. Plus it would allow me to do more in depth repairs and mods without having to get the thing back together the same day.

A set of seat covers will prolly be high on the list of first mods. :D

    Just looked at the 2006.
It was advertised with 130,000 miles at $14,500. Thought it might be worth a look.
I think it may have been a farm hand truck, had worn to the cord tires on it.
Tailgate was bent near in half. Tailgate handle was missing. Bed had more dents than mine does.
Interior, definitely a big dog had been riding shotgun for several thousand miles.
Drivers seat had more holes than threads.
Body had several dings/dents. Headlights were completely frosted over.
    it needed some work.
I'll wait for the next one.;)

I agree about the stick on weights. I had noticed the lead had started to separate from the sticky stuff and had begun a loose relationship with the wheel.

@tacot0wn So a really cool guy I know brought me a bottle of Diamond Peak. I popped it open tonight to have a sip. It's pretty damn tasty!

Thankfully I didn't do much practicing the other night. Never felt light headed or sick so, I guess I'm ok...as can be.

Im going to pick up some slabs of granite tomorrow... for some sort of projects, so I'll also swing by and get some welding metal from Altitude Steel and maybe swing by General Air for some gas.

Come by here and go to c&m metal and pull some scrap. They are the cheapest i have found for scrap

And heavy metal you would be puking and sick as a dog and cant do anything about it but ride it out. Thats if it was a mild exposure. If to much... i get your racks and rear axle.

Not sure what I'm building. A few slabs I pulled out of a new house that I figure I can find some use for other than the dumpster. Maybe build some tables, or tables for the patios.

If anyone wants a 8'x4' island slab with a stainless sink... its available. But... heavy as all hell. And would need to be gone soon.
