Hey! I've been researching installments for subwoofers in a 2017 Taco and was wondering if there is anyone who has put them in a 17' or if the installment is the same as the 16'? I would like the place them either under or behind the back seats. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Had the fosgate ps-8 under the seat in my 2nd gen. It's a solid setup for something like a truck cab.

I put the Kenwood under my drivers seat... its "meh". Im looking to put a box in behind the rear seats of my double cab. From what Ive found, once I remove the plastic bins, its the same size box as fits in the Gen 2... If that is true I can buy a box prebuilt via Amazon Prime for around $120.

same here, didn't think much of the small ones at all.

the shape is different for the 3rd gens so make sure to double check what you find.

I installed a Fosgate PS-8 behind the back seat in my double cab. Sounds great and fits nicely.

Yah, I had 2 - 10's in my last truck, I knew not to expect much from the underseat option, but its pretty bad. This link from Amazon says it will fit the 16s as well:

nice, looks like it will. I think the major difference was the vent cutouts
on the box and that one looks low enough to avoid them. I've got 1
10" JL Audio Sub in a box behind the seats and it is all I need :D It just about
shakes the rear view mirror right off the wind shield when I crank it!

Yah I paid $140ish for the underseat sub. $110 for the backseat box (I have an amp and subs to drop in it) seems like a no brainer to me

Check out Mr. Marv. He makes amazing stuff. I have used him for 3 of my vehicles so far, including my Tacoma.

I have 2 of these behind the rear seats - so far they are a great improvement, but for me, they are not quite enough. It is great for easy of installation and I am pretty sure you can just throw one in the cubby and not have to remove the cubbies from behind seats.

they are a little tall to go under seats, but i'm pretty sure if you removed the padding underneath the carpet they would fit

I am still working on tuning them and testing them out to see if they are the ultimate thing for me, but for the money they are a great little device with a built in sub and amp and they do add to the system and sound good. I am currently trying them out for a local shop, but I am pretty sure I will eventually go to a full size box with a single or dual 10 'cause I want more bass when I am in the mood =)

OK install complete.... I LOVE it. Heres a list of my subwoofer components:

    Dual 10" enclosure.

As expected, I had to remove the plastic bins behind the seats, as well as the plastic seat backs. I did NOT have to remove the rear seats, it only took 5 minutes.

    $108 on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HHUTQ1E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    ___

    Pioneer 2400 watt amp.

I had an old amp but I decided to upgrade since this is double the power, (compact) fits under the drivers seat, and has a bass control remote that I mounted under the empty cubby on the drivers side of the dash. This allows my wife to basically shut off the subs when she drives the truck.

    $167 on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CLFM596/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    __

    Pioneer TS-W254R 10" Subwoofers.

I had these in an enclosure from my old truck and just swapped them into this box. They arent the best out there (only like $60 each) but their specs match the new enclosure as well, so I thought I would give them a try. They sound great, so I dont feel the need to upgrade to better subs at this time

I hope this helps some of you

I just saw that box on Amazon the other day, so you feel it's worth the money and good quality?

Bone stock except bungee cords and husky liners!
Perhaps I'm missing the obvious but how is everyone hooking the sub up for audio input from the factory system?

You have to get a line output converter and tap into the stereo wires either behind the head unit, or into the door speaker.
