    Hello all,
I am new to the site but have been looming around for a while. I have a noise issue with the truck it has 1500 miles. Bare with me...1st issue was front right coil/spring bushing was not seated correctly can be seen and be heard. Dealer fixed and noise was still there. 2nd time reported noise, brought it in....they said it was normal, I disagree. The noise was so bad it was annoying the hell out of me. 3rd time, they find 2 bolts loose on upper arms=said that was the cuase. Anyhow...the noise is still there. This will be my 4th time in. Each time at the dealer I explained that its the bushing that sits on top of the coil.....they don't want to hear that and is willing to find other issues. Anyone else have this problem and what to do bout' it.

    Anyhow,
Truck at delear on Monday and it' still there. I showed the tech where (around) the area the noise is coming from and he hears it and the VIP coordinator also hears it. So I leave the truck and get a call this afternoon they said the tech's can't duplicate the noise. WTF....i just did it for him. Anyhow they say it's normal....what. After each time they say it's normal they find something wrong 3x already. Man..this is the 3rd tacoma i'm on and this is the first of the noise????go figure. anyway they said a toyota tech advisor is coming tommorow, will see. The truck has 1500 miles and already has been in 4 times? Its a bushing and why can't they just replace it. AND OHH get this the service writer tells me if they can't hear the noise inside the truck they cant fix it. I can hear it but they can't.

    Chris....
No kidding it sounds like a broken bed when youre in the heat of the moment. Don't really know how to describe it other than that. It occurs when the front right suspension is cycled up and down. Over speed bumps (going slow) and up on driveways going slow. If going over the bump fast no noise is heard. It really does sound like a bad bed..more of a creak rather than a squeal if that makes sense. Also cant hear driving on flat surfaces except when coming to a hard stop and the truck dips forward and rebounds back. Help please....truck is gonna be looked at by Toyota service tech? tommorow am, not the dealers tech.

Sounds like a bushing, to me. Have you tried spraying the bushings with a good penatrating oil?

    Chris,
Thanks for the reply...I told them that was the case...they had reseated the coil isolator bushing @800miles and that was the main reason that i brought it in the first place. I do indeed believe as you do it's the bushing. Anyhow it should be done today. I will let you know. I did try some white lithium grease no fix there. I might just redo the bushing with urethane ones if this is resolved today. thanks again

They say we need the truck 1 more day. WTF...they said nothing was wrong and could not duplicate the noise. Anyway I guess something is wrong. Toyota ok'd a rental but, no thanks....again they insist nothing wrong????why do you need my truck still. They say tech's are looking over the truck w/toyota's tech advisor not the dealer's. I guess, we'll see. Loving my FJ all over again.

    Well here's and update:
The noise is gone awesome!!! However, they left me with a 8 inch scratch that seems to be superficial and looks like could be buffed out. Guess I got something to do this weekend. Was thinking of throwing a hissy fit but, to be honest I'm tired of their crap.
Work repair order stated that the bushing was missing a piece and that was causing the coil to squeak. They remedied the noise with felt. FELT? anyway the noise is gone for now but we'll see. 4 times in and I had specified that the coil bushing was the culprit....took them 3 days to figure this out?
Sales team I dealt with is awesome and took care of me, but service there sucks. I will never take my truck there again.

Hamer Toyota of Mission Hills California. Sales is awesome but service sucks.

    Guys,
Well here's the update. Got truck back from Hamer Toyota....after they changed the part thought to be responsible for the noise. After complaining to the service manager and calling Toyota's customer line and starting a case #, the service agreed to change the part that was resolved by using FELT........HOWEVER the freakin noise is back. The exact same freakin noise.................I give. What Now....Im gonna loose my mind.

    Fellas,
Received an answer from a Lemon law lawyer this morning. Been in business for 20 years and this is the only case he sees. Has a 97% success rate. Also, California has a law that stipulates that the manufacture has to pay the lawyer and not the consumer. Anyway, called the salesman who sold me my truck (awesome guy btw) made an appointment to see manager today to find out my options (mine not there's). Atleast now I have my threat to sue if neccessary. Oops....almost forget. Lawyer sent an email stated I definately have a case, pending my proof of service (warranty) etc. I have em' all. Explained to Lemon Lawyer exactly what happened and is pretty sure I indeed have a case. So, the ball is in Toyota's court now........will see

    So WTF.......
Called dealer threatening a Lemon Law w/email from Lawyer stating that this qualifies as a lemon.....now the weird part. In the morning before leaving for work 0600 @ bout' 60 degrees or so the damn noise is LOUD and CLEAR...after work at 1600 it's about low 70s noise is LOUDand clear....I drive 20 miles bout' 15 to 20 minutes and arrive at the dealer it's now 1700 and close to 90 degress...NO FLIPPIN NOISE whatsoever, I am stumped tried everything that would make noise at home. Speed bump, yanking on the doors etc...I mean everything not even small peep:confused:. So I make-up a story and leave before I speak to anyone and said I would be back another day.
Visited a family member in that town and hang around for a couple of hours its now 2000 and in the low 70s with a nice cool breeze. Tried to replicate the noise and still nothing WTF. So figure the bushing? or whatever causes the noise is settled and finally gone. So...I drive home takes about 20 minutes and is now 65 or so and arrive. First speedbump at home....and guess what the noise is LOUD and CLear. WTF...I'm flippin hot. So, I get myself back in the truck and drive to downtown LA for a late dinner w/friends another 20 or so minutes and about low 70s and noise is gone.......WHAT. I drive home after dinner it's now 2330 mid 60s and guess what.......Noise is LOUD and CLEAR! I am laughing hystericaly now and everyone thinks I've lost my mind. I do work at a PSYCH ward go figure. To make this long story even longer...I came to a conclusion. I figure the tech's must have lubed my bushing with some type of lubricant that when cold(moisture in air) causes the bushing and the coil to slip on each other or move about and creates that noise. I live about < 2 miles from the Ocean and figures the moisture in the air is causing the noise. I don't know???? I am stumped. Well I figured what would defintely fix this issue...I don't know why I didn't think of this in the first place.......LIFT the TRUCK my little 8 year old says. For now Toyota is off the HOOK I'm gonna put some miles on the truck and see. Just dumbfounded and exhausted. I give for now.........
