There are bed racks that will still allow you to keep the softtopper...

I've seen that setup but I camp just about every weekend and having to take down/ setup up two separate system would become too much of a hassle. Plus, I'd like to use the rack to mount up fuel/ water/ etc.

I actually didn't like the color much when I bought it but the more flat black I add, The more I like it. I knew the color had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, photos don;t do this color justice. It looks so much better in person.

running it further back then most due to my bed rack...going to still see if i can get the back window to fit, but right now it's too tight of a fit with the back bar...

in the spring i will modify to mount the RTT on the rack and softopper under that so i have canvas cover all year...should be fun :D

I pressure washed my truck this weekend after Moab. No issues I can find. If anything does get in, Water/ Dirt, it's because the bed isn't sealed up. It isn't coming in through the top at all.

Here's what one looks like that was purchased in 2008 its held up really well until I ran a stick through it, I actually like the way it turned out after being repaired with marine vinyl.

Yep I took mine through a gas station drive-thru car wash on the way back from Elk camp. It was filthy and caked with dried mud. Not only did it come out clean and like new, it kept all my gear dry despite the multiple jets spraying from various angles. I was impressed.

The softopper website says not to take it through the carwash. I'm not sure why, I'm sure jeeps do fine with their soft tops.

Here's mine, silver and charcoal gray. I really like it, but I'll probably be making a stouter version of the rails that clamp to the bed rails, something that incorporates the pivot pin and bolts directly to the utility track instead of using those aluminum clamps. Will probably also move the snaps in an inch and a half so I can make a rack that bolts on without having to stick out past the edge of the bed.

If anyone has a black soft top for a first generation (2002) extended cab and is local to the Sacramento/surrounding areas and want to sell... let me know. Have been debating getting one for some time now, and finally realize I need to just suck it up and get one!
