Another slow day....boss is at some energy conference thing and patiently waiting on the CAD department to get some stuff back to me. How's everybody else's day going?

Working on some ductwork modeling here. Yesterday was a helluva day. 2 layoffs but thankfully I wasn't one of them. We're a small company that just got smaller.

 

Ooooh ductwork modeling? Using some sort of software I assume? btw I could basically be called an HVAC system design engineer lol

 

Slow here as well I haven't done shit all day and now I'm bout to leave work and go to the dentist so pretty good day for me other than the root canal part

We use Inventor and of course Autocad. We were going to make the switch to Solidworks but that never panned out. This particular system was done by our customer and I'm trying to piece it together with minimal information from them. They didn't even give me the sizes of the W shapes or Channels. This is a boiler outlet gas duct. 16'-8" x 12' at the outlet. Inlet is only 4' x 6'-8". We usually do the design work but for some reason the customer wanted to. It's a headache!!!

 

Boiler outlet gas duct? Do you mean the exhaust duct from the boiler?

 

I don't have an overall system plan from these guys so I have no idea where it's positioned other than on the outlet side somewhere. I'm just going by what they called it. I tell ya, no information from these guys. I don't even have a project name lol
