I think there's an alignment shop here in town that's known for truly specializing in alignments. I may have to try them next. The shop I go to now is a customs shop and they're pretty fantastic in general. They do alignments, welding, fabricating, dyno testing, custom car builds, etc.

I have tried the center lane on the highway and it still does it. It didn't do it before the wheel switch.

I had vibes with my Hankooks. Returned them after 7 months and 12k miles.

6 tires in total throughout that time. America's Tire gave me a full refund.

So.. if you can't beat them, return them. Some tires aren't right.

Seems to be more of an America's Tire problem, than a KO2 problem. I had the same issue, and went to three different America's Tire locations in California and Oregon (I was on a long road trip). They all said that they were perfectly balanced and nothing more they could do. They said that's just the way KO2's are, and I should buy different tires. Funny, they never mentioned that "issue" when plunking down a $1000 bill for the tires when they sold them to me. When I got home to LA, I tried one more Americas Tire location, and they miraculously got them pretty well balanced. I still get a tiny bit of vibration around 75, but nothing compared to how bad they had been.

those look pretty cool, I've never seen them. Pricey?

would you just remove all weights from the wheel and then use these?

That's correct, no wheel weights. I think I spent right around $100 after tax and shipping. Different sizes will require different amounts, so the price will vary. Here's some more info.

thanks. the ko2's I have on I noticed required a shit ton of weights to balance them. There
is a strip of them on the front tire that's gotta be at least 8 weights long and I haven't checked
the other tires yet. I can't recall ever seeing that many weights on a single tire.

So, I had the trd pro rims and Ko2's. I had a slight turn of the steering wheel on straight roads. I took it in to the dealer to get the wheel straightened and they F'ed up my Alignment so bad I had to take it to an outside alignment shop.

Heres what I can tell you from my experience, one of my K02's took 8 ounces to balance which was a lot. They balanced it 5 times.. couldnt get it right. put another tire on and it wanted almost 9 ounces. put a 3rd tire on and it was calling for 1.5 ounces total. The new run of k02's are out of wack. so make them put on a new tire if they cant get it right and they will send the old one back to the manufacturer.

I want my wheel straight when I am going down a road with little or slight crown in the road. a little twist to offset crown is fine too as it will be the opposite on a reverse crown. I have seen a lot of these guys get in your car and do the alignment with the wheel "off".. So make sure you get in the truck and set the wheel and make them do the alignment based off of where you want the wheel. A lot of the time they push the caster or camber off to try to "adjust" for crown but it makes the truck pull and drive like shit. These trucks have a positive camber from the factory and I like a neutral camber/tow or a little negative to help with steering and highway driving, but never positive. they said they do that to help with tire wear but it makes the truck feel unstable and squirmy on the road.

Now I drive straight and true with no vibration on my steering wheel and I feel better/confident at low/high speed.

Neutral-tow/camber/caster and a well balanced wheel will make your truck drive great and help with MPG as well

    my 02 cents

Bridgestone specifically designed the Kbro2 to fit best on 20" or larger wheels. They simply make the smaller sizes so they can have the required off road cred that all the Bros want.

I had TRD Pro rims and BFG KO2's put on my 3rd gen not too long before I got rid of it. I ordered them from 4wd.com if that matters. When I brought them to the dealer to get installed, they told me they were all 4 bad (out of round). They could not even road force balance them to within specs. I contacted BFG and they told me to go to a different tire shop which ended up rebalancing them but they still vibrated like hell. I called BFG again and told them I wanted them replaced and told them to send me to a shop that had them in stock, so they did. The 3rd shop road forced balanced them again, with no success. The shop then got on the phone with BFG and they agreed to replace all 4. The new tires were fine and no more issues. I recommend you contact BFG and bypass the initial shop at this time.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
could be that TKOs have an aggressive tread pattern and stiffer sidewalls and are way heavier than a P metric All Season that came on the truck originally and wont fly down highways at 65-75mph like a stock All Season tire will

My 285/70/17 BFG's are fine. They vibrate a little more than the small highway factory tires, but nothing I didn't expect. Sounds like you have a bad set of tires. Always get an alignment when you buy new tires. My wife ruined a $1000 set of tires because she needed an alignment, and didn't get it done. 10K miles later, we had to buy another set. If you have an alignment, the tire shop can't blame it on your alignment, if the tires are bad.

2 of 4 of my Load E KO2s were "out of round". Bought from 4wheel parts. They tried to balance them at Toyota, Les Shwab, and finally at 4wheel parts before replacing them. If i recall one of the tires would have needed somewhere around 8-10oz to balance.

get them road forced balanced. if you have vibration at highway speeds it is almost always high road force. if it is around 55 then goes away above or below that then you have balance issue. independent tire shops do not have a road force balancer.
