    Thank you Joe! Now I can start saving for that 3rd Gen rear bumper you have
    been bragging about. Oh! before I forget, the Rustolium High Temp BLACK
    spray paint is a close match for anyone needing to touch up their skin or cap's
    shipping scars. I used a little on a queue tip to touch up some edge scrapes
    received in shipment. I also used it to paint the heads of the Metric cap screws
    (M6x1.00.25MM) I used to replace the OEM screws I took out. You can find
    the cap screws at Lowes.

    While you are at Lowes picking up those Stainless Steel screws, I also suggest
    you buy two packages of 3/16" x 1.0" fender washers (four each) to put on the
    back of the cap (where it meets the skin) those elongated holes in the cap are
    pretty big.

    Good info. The slots are fairly over sized for two reasons:

    One to compensate for gasket between the underside of the cap and the top side of the tailgate and two to compensate for any slight variation when forming the part on the press brake. You can gain or lose material at each bend depending on the bottom die, how sharp the top die is and the actual thickness of the material. 14 ga steel is typically .0747" thick but can vary a few thousandths here and there. This makes a difference when running the parts. You should mic each piece, or at least the first piece from each sheet when running through the press brake because on a CNC brake you have the field to enter the material thickness for each piece to give you the most accurate results when bending.

    Hey Joe! I saw that my cap refund was posted back to my account on Friday.
    Thanks for the quick response. Now, if you'd just be that fast with the Gen3
    rear bumper (ha,ha). The skin and cap mods look GREAT and don't affect the
    tailgate assist that much. Hopefully I will be able to send you some more
    business. These two mods more than pay for themselves in peace of mind

    Hmmm....on our truck it definitely comes down quicker but it's not the same as on the 2nd gen without the easy down. On the 2nd gen it falls so hard it sounds like it might rip the whole tailgate off the truck.
