I know some of you who follow me on Instagram know but for those that don't ---- my friend, and US Army veteran, Jake ( @roguecomcam on Instagram) is over with the Peshmarga currently taking the fight to ISIS near Mosul. They captured this makeshift .50 BMG "sniper" rifle from ISIS a few days ago. I figured you guys would appreciate the photos!

If you want to see his photos as the battle goes along be sure to follow him on IG (y)

Pretty much. Just showing you can't be trusting those Japanese girls running around either. My wife points them out all the time. She's like "you know they don't look like that right, what are they thinking".edit*not my wife

That would be possible with the older (72 mhz) transmitters as there were only 50 frequencies available. Figure out what channel they were using and you could "shoot 'em down". The newer 2.4 ghz systems are far superior. Once the transmitter and receiver are "bound" together, it's nearly impossible for another transmitter to cause interference.

Yeah, I saw back in April that the FAA had decided that private drones were classified as aircraft, even though they aren't regulated like aircraft.
However, according to the Supreme Court (from a decision from the 40's, I think), property rights extend to 83 feet above the ground, which is higher than any of the trees around my place. Additionally, there's already been precedent set for people shooting down drones in their backyards. It's a problem that needs to be addressed further, with limits set on how close you're allowed to get to somebody else's house. I've got no problem with drones as a concept; they're a fun toy if you want to buzz around public property with them. But as a tool to invade people's privacy? It's BS that there haven't been more laws intro'd to protect homeowner's rights, & that the FAA sidestepped the issue in the first place by referencing a law written with piloted aircraft in mind for what is essentially a $100 remote-controlled toy plane with a camera bolted onto it.

    /rant.

    Edit:
Maybe I should take up falconry, lol.

I would think a nice high wattage laser pointer would pretty much burn out a CCD camera. Make it an expensive flight might stop them.

You have me confused with someone who gives a fuck about what dumbasses do at their homes. When I fly, someone is paying me to do so.

Many consumer level drones these days have flight loggers built into the controller data output and it's easy to see the flight pattern and altitudes through that flight.

One thing thaw media doesn't seem to talk about are the shoot downs where the operator easily proved hat they were not in violation of airspace or privacy laws using these logs. With that said allot of people get punchy about drones and while sometimes their concerns are genuine, most of the time they are based on lack of knowledge of the extent and limitations of their rights as well as the technology they are concerned about. Many give too much credit to these devices and their capabilities.

Some folks around here want to ban them on the lake because of the nudist beach. APPARENTLY some people have been launching them from another cove and flying them within visibility of the nekkid people.

    Fools.
The hippies that are still nudists are not what you want to be spying on. :puke:
