Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

17s are laaaaaaaaame! I just wish someone had a 37" tire for a 16 that wasnt a dedicated offroad tire lol

 

PS, you know you can run a 16 with maxtracs lol

 

With wheel spacers tho right? Or it just has to be a high offset or something? My 17's are already so close to the spindle I don't think I could run a 285 tire with these wheels.

 

all you need is a 4.5" backspacing with 0 OR a negative offset. mine are 16x8s with 4.5" BS and 0 offset. I ran my 16s with no spacers for awhile and they cleared just fine. I have my spacers on mostly to fill my fenders out and I would probably need them to clear my UCAs

Let me get this clear. This may be a dumb question. If i get a 5 or 6 inch spindle lift I have to get new struts for the front too?

 

If you get a 4" maxtrac spindle and keep the stock struts, its 4". You can do larger struts, new coilovers or get the bilsteins and set them higher or change the springs. Whatever higher you go on struts, add that to the 4" spindle lift.

 

So, if you add a bigger strut does that adds on top of a spacer and spindle?

 

Not necessarily, you can get the extra 2" from a strut spacer. I believe that's what the 6" Maxtrac kit comes with.

 

Any lift you get from the struts is added to the 4" from the spindles, that's how I got 7". 4 from spindles + 2.5 from 5100's + .5 from 1/4" Toytec spacers = 7"

yeah little mali/shep mix. he's a nut about a year old but learning quikly. yeah i miss my little Bolt he had a great personality.

 

Yeah I bet but at least he's still here so you can see him, I was worried for him when you mentioned there was a chance he could be put down.
So are you not in the field while he's training? I'm sure you're part of the training so he learns to work with you.

 

Question 2: Is it worth getting the maxtrac spindle and not just get the Amazon one? It seems just as sturdy, and it looks like it just doesnt have the maxtrac emblem which, to me, isnt worth paying an extra 150 for.

 

Personally I wouldn't trust a knock off & Maxtracs are proven to be tough. Oh & it's only a $95 difference if you order from @HeadStrong Off-Road & with free shipping.
