Best of both worlds will probably still be stock 3.73. If you feel under geared, you could go 4.10 for a little extra torque to the wheels. You'll be way over geared if you go 4.56, unless you plan to do 35s.

So the Powertrax No-Slip locker will fit in the TRD Sport 8.4" rear end. I can only find it for the 8" rear.

Just the 3rd member, however check to see if your OEM housing needs modification to accept it. I know my 3rd gen 4 runner needed a housing mod to accept the Elocker 3rd. So I just opted for sourcing a matching ratio axle assembly and bolted it up

They are all 8" gears. Toyota intentionally mislabels the "8.4" because it is stronger.

You just can't bolt up the elocker 3rd member without some moding to the axle housing right.

    HARROP EATON ELOCKER

Happy to report that there is an aftermarket elocker built in Australia, using licensed Eaton tech and parts made in USA.

    Maybe I can help........:)

We import these and sell them in partnership with installing/selling shops. Please see the online store for fitment, pricing, tech, install and other stuff. I have a 12 bolt, 8.4" Harrop going in my Tacoma (rear) next week or so.

Well damn, I just picked up an ARB for the 8.4"
If I had known this was an option I would have seriously considered it.

    https://www.harrop.com.au/shop/4x4-performance/elocker/elocker-toyota-tacoma-rear-shimmed

Bit pricey though! $1800 USD MSRP! OUCH...
