Hi everyone, I am getting ready to buy a Tacoma. I was just wondering should I get a short bed or a long bed. Which do you guys prefer? Benefits, pros and cons let me know thanks.

We will be sleeping in it when we camp. The short bed is basically 60 inches the long bed to 73

Both look good but long bed are useful!

Welcome to TW! Too much bed is better than not enough unless you want the shorter wheel base for off road. JMO.

If you plan to sleep in it, long bed. Unless you're incredibly short.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
What makes the short bed better for wheeling? If it's an Access Cab, the overall length is the same.

The access cab has less cab length though.

Welcome. Your answer is in your comment about camping. "We"= long bed.

And what effect would the cab being shorter have on wheeling?

Ah... Now the comment makes sense. If the DCLB, then the overall truck is longer, and that would make a difference.

OP. spend some time at the dealer test driving different trucks. ACLB, DCSB, DCLB. Get to know the basic characteristics of each before you decide. Know how the truck feels (comfort,), interior space, bed space (yes, lay down in the bed), handling characteristics, and so on. Don't be one of the guys who buys it before knowing how the seat feels.

    LB for sure

Unless you need a 6MT like me, than its SB + bed extender, since toyota won't give me a LB + 6MT

    Regular cab FTW!

Long 6' bed, and shortest length and wheelbase for offroad.

do the long bed i have a long bed and off road it the short bed is a little better on trails but the long bed is doable trust me
Also you will regret the short bed if you are sleeping in the bed
