so by the committee logic even if Alabama loses to auburn and the sec championship we should still be at least #4. how the heck did Clemson and Michigan only fall 1 spot?

I'm just sayin, At this point I don't think Clemson controls the ball well enough to beat Bama, and I don't think any of the other top teams has the ability either except maybe Louisville

And you know good and damn well, a NCG featuring 2 ACC teams would not go over well with anyone anywhere except the ACC

    MAGIC!

Having two teams in from the same conference is going to happen. Period. Too many inconsistencies across the separate conferences. If they move to 8 spots, it will become more likely, and may end up including 3 teams from the same conference.

For example, in 2009 and 2011, when Bama, LSU, and Florida were all competing for top spots, I believe the committee would have had all three in there somewhere, specifically if they playoff bracket was at 8 teams.

It will happen. I'm not sure which conference it will happen with, but it will happen, if the committee truly picks the BEST TEAMS, and not the most financially rewarding.

I really wish the BIG12 would get a CCG, so that one inconsistency would be eliminated.

And in 2012, Bama and Georgia would have both been in afterthat incredible SECCG.

    agreed.

The playoff came about somewhat because of the heavy SEC bias perceived by other conferences. I hope we can agree, that if the playoff committee of today were to set up a bracket for those years, that it still would have been a heavy SEC bias....

I wouldn't call that the SEC bias the rest of the country perceived. The SEC bias that everyone hates is when teams at the bottom of the barrel get the benefit and get lauded for going 6-6 and they're crappy teams

If the 2 best teams in the country come from the mountain west, so be it

It just gets irritating hearing announcers put down a team because they're NOT in the SEC, and even more irritating to hear the basement dwellers chant "SEC SEC SEC" even though they've never done much to note and never really contributed to the cause of being the top of the heap

I will say, I think the "SEC bias" of years past has somewhat subsided

I can see your point, to a point. You know as well as I do that there were fans out there from other conferences who complained about Alabama and LSU always being ranked so high, only because they were in the SEC. ESPECIALLY the year that they played twice....That I think was kind of the tipping point for most fans in other conferences.

I'm glad I'm going to the Iron Bowl and all, but it's a completely irrelevant game. We could lose it and still be the #1 team in the playoffs. We could lose badly and still be in the playoffs.

I want to win and all, but..... meh....

Disagree... In the final BCS poll, Georgia (w/ 2 losses) was down to 7th. Now... committee doesn't equal BCS, but they had 11-1 Florida, 11-1 Oregon, 11-1 K State and 11-2 Stanford ahead of them. I imgine that the committee in 2012 would have put Bama, ND, Oregon and K-State in the playoffs.

Maybe if the SECC had been UGA's only loss.

I'd be nice to see him return but I'm not counting on it. I don't blame him. But in my mind he's already gone for next year.

    17-0 so far

Well, I misread Louisville for sure

I'm pretty sure this is a case of buying into your own hype and spending too much time whining on twitter about the rankings instead of preparation

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Well, Houston did start off pretty good this year. And only 2 losses
