Right , it's not the capacity that is the problem. I used to have a ATV and a side by side and pulled my 16ft trailer. Toys are gone. I plan to down size the trailer.

 

I traded in my 2013 for a 2017 Sport prem+tech about, 2ish months ago. About 2300 miles on it now. Started mods, towed stuff, moved stuff, bought stuff off craigslist, zero issues. Love the truck, love the updated amenities with the interior and the tech package. The only thing I don't like about the truck is the wheels/tires it came with, but that's going to get fixed soon. 100% yes.

 

I regret purchasing my Tacoma TRD. I am having many of the issues that others were posting here in TW, didn't listen. I should of got another Tundra instead, a lot more capable truck. My 2007 Tundra 0 issues, a real work horse at the ranch

 

What specific issues are you having?

 

Poor gas millage, auto trans. ( I have scheduled a EMC calibration for my next service 15K) throttle behavior, some times if you floor the gas pedal it takes few seconds to respond, very scary when you merging on short of ramps

 

Yours is a lemon too?

 

Wouldn't say a lemon, but a big disappointment after having owned and driven Toyota trucks since late 60's, never expected this poor of a product from Toyota

 

I have the strangest issues with my truck. When im driving down the road I get sudden urges to veer into the desert and do doughnuts.

 

Will you trade it for a 17 Tundra?

 

I'd be going with the manual transmission so that would avoid many of the issues that you're having it seems. Except maybe the gas mileage, but I'm coming from a RAM 1500 so anything above 13-14 MPG is all good to me.

 

My 6MT has gotten great MPG

 

Why would you want to trade a Tundra for a Tacoma? Seems like an unfair trade!

 

you got it backwards

he had problem free tundra
bought tacoma=tons of problems

thus asking if he's getting back to tundra

 

I drove both and I'm still considering which to get. I like the look of the 3rd gen Tacoma better and I love I can get it in a manual. The Tundra was a huge beast by comparison and I don't care for the look of it as much, but damn if it doesn't have an amazing power train. It's a lot quicker and peppier than I expected. I drive a RAM 1500 and the Tundra just blows it away in terms of smoothness and power. Love that about the Tundra. I'm not sure if that's enough to sway me over the Tacoma though.
