Oh my god, that place still exists? I have been there many, many times. In a previous life I was a hiking/backpacking addict. Every single weekend was spent in the woods. Tent City used to be the place to go if you wanted high end gear that was a bit less expensive than say REI or EMS. I bought a bunch from them.

Really though. Whiskey got popular again and now I'm spending $35+ on a bottle of Jack. Not to mention anything nice...

Agreed. I miss back when I was first able to buy booze legally, good whiskeys were cheap. Goddamn Maker's Mark used to be $18 a bottle. Scotch used to be super cheap! Could buy Laphroaig 10YO for $25 a bottle. Now it's $45.

At least Ardbeg 10 is only $60 a bottle. Don't try it, it's horrible and should never be known as the reasonably priced delicious scotch it is.

Don't bother with Makers Mark when you can buy Evan Williams single barrel for about the same price and a much better bourbon. Makers has a great ad campaign though

Shrug. I actually prefer Macallan 12 or Laphroaig Quarter Cask if I'm buying a $55-60 bottle.

Ardbeg's a decent scotch, but not one of my faves

Ever tried Iceberg? I like Grey Goose as well but Iceberg is a much cheaper alternative and tastes great.

Bulleit is my go-to fancy bourbon lately. If I'm mixing it (or slumming it) it's Jim Beam white label, lol.

    What, no gin drinkers?

Edit: I'll be working on blue sapphire when I get home

    During the summer, sure.
Occasionally I'll mix some Cold River gin into a Barking Dog at other times of the year, though.

I love me some gin. I have a bottle of blue and a bottle of green at home.

Shrug. I like it, for a cheap bourbon. IMO it's a better flavor than Jim Beam, and it doesn't give me a hangover like Evan Williams does if I drink too much of it, lol

Beer, red wine & gin are about all I drink. Got good & sick on vodka once. I can't touch the stuff after that episode...

The bar I used to work at had Evan Williams as the well whiskey. I learned to love it real quick since it was a dollar cheaper than jack.
