I installed my new 5100's yesterday with the help of a buddy (love it by the way!) and today i went to get an alignment at a auto shop and they put their tools on, only to come tell me that the front align couldn't be performed because it will mess with the vehicle's laser cruise control...?? Is this just BS or does an 09 Tacoma Sport require special equipment?

I don't think Tacomas have laser cruise control. Some high end luxury cars do, but I've never heard of Tacomas having it. I would try another shop if I were you. JMO.

I know that the alignment numbers wint be perfect, due to a stock UCA. Just tell them to get it as close as possible to the specs.

I heard if you ignore the laser cruise control during the alignment that it will put the muffler bearings out of balance which increases the viscocity of the transmission grease. And we all know the problems that that will cause.

Just take it to the dealer.

They gave you the standard dumbass answer that can be translated to mean that "we only have unskilled monkeys working in the shop and you don't want them touching your truck".

You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have a truck with frickin' laser beams attached to it's upper control arms!

IME the guys at the dealer suck at alignments. I've had better luck at Goodyear and Firestone tire places that do a dozen every day. Firestone has a lifetime alignment deal where you pay $150 or $200 and you bring it back as many times as you want. If you're going to do it once a year for 10 years, that's a great investment. You only need to put up with the upsell on your brake widgets, muffler doohickeys, steering murples, etc needing to be replaced while you are there.
