This. If you don't drive it like you stole it the motor will last just as long as a normally aspirated truck.

I got the S/C so I could have more towing power without having to go for a full-size truck. If I want to go fast - I have motorcycles for that.

    mid-travel for now....
Yeah that's very true. what changed my mind was I talked to a couple people and mechanics and they told me all the same thing that superchargers wear your engine down alot faster than having a stock engine. at the end of the day our trucks aren't meant to be fast and aren't race trucks. well that's what they told me lol. idk maybe I'll just say fuck ans install it. after all nothing lasts forever anyways I guess...

Adding the S/C just makes a very under-stressed, under-tuned motor a little less under-stressed and under-tuned. You'll get a long life, it's a Toyota after all - the frame will rot out long before the motor gives out :D

I understand, if I'm being fair and as objective as possible you can't deny that there is more risk involved to being supercharged. Most of that relates to making sure that it's installed, functioning and maintained properly. It does increase your overall expenses (namely having to buy premium fuel). But if it's installed, functioning and maintained well and you're a good driver with it (like you would be even without a supercharger) then there's really nothing to worry about. After all, life is too short and I spend too much time behind the wheel to not have a little fun with it ;)

If the supercharger was that hard on it TRD would've never developed it. That's why GM doesn't make them for the Colorado/Canyons. :boink:

I can say one thing for sure, the wheeling I do in my truck is far harder on it than the supercharger is. And I'm very careful with my truck offroad. I'm sure that's true for anyone that wheels

I see your in Los Angeles .... Hello

From my experience your catalytic converter will go out way before the engine does and in our lovely state its like 2-3k to get them replaced thanks to CARB rules.

I've always wanted the supercharger, but now I'm just going off of what mechanics are telling me. my truck has 29k miles right now. and has an afe cai. I think that paired with the sc would be nice lol

pfft, 29k miles that engine is still a baby. A baby begging for boost :D

I know several members on here with high mileage engines that are supercharged, for what it's worth.

(heads up, if you don't want us to change your mind you'd better unsubscribe from this thread lol)

You also experience a stiffening of the third leg.

You will always regret not installing and enjoying your supercharger.
