i had to replace my hood a few years back and forgot to take a picture of the emission control information label under the hood now i need some info and don't know what to do.
i need to replace the catalytic converter on my taco but the mechanic gave two quotes cause he needs some info from the label to get the right cat. so if any one here can point me to the right direction on how to get a replacement label or the right cat part number for a 2002 toyota tacoma prerunner 2.7 litter.
    thanks for your help

I'm in the process of buying a cat for my 2001 2.4L. but I still had the stickerso, it was fairly easy, but even for my model, There were only 2 Engine family Types to choose from and it was one direct fit/bolt on part that covered both engine family types. I wonder if you can gather some of that info from the vin.. looky here.. http://www.weber.edu/wsuimages/automotive/T-TEN/2002 VIN Toyota.pdf

Maybe also try looking up cat's on jcwhitney.com and see what engine family types are matche dup tot eh various cats on there. Are you replacing just the front cat or the rear one, also called the resonator?

I take that back on the vin.. I don't think that will help.. the main thing is, figure out if it's California certified.. If yes, you ought to get a 50 states cat. And if that's the case, I can't imagine there being a lot of different options for cats.

Go to www.toyotapartsdeal.com, put your VIN in and look under Engine/Fuel/Tool > Caution Plate & Name Plate (Engine). The Plate, Emission Control Information sticker may not be available, but if you post the part number that comes up, maybe someone can snap a picture of theirs with the same part number. The actual sticker should have the last 5 digits of the part number printed in the corner.
