Damn, really? Looked like the black hatch from Cannonball vs the Firechicken from Knight Rider.

    Jason,

I thought I had read somewhere in here about your plans for rear shackle hangers but can't seem to find it now. Are you going to keep a shackle flip type setup? Or remove those and go back to the stock inverted arrangement?

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I remember him saying stock inverted setup, plus a little reinforcing.

Been waiting for him to take the plunge because I might copy

I have similar plans thats why I was curious. I want to build a beefy hanger that matches stock dimensions but that I can tie into a new cross member when I cut out the stock one and box the frame in.

He's going back to inverted, but ditching the crappy loaded bushing stock shackles and replacing them with some Poly bushed ones that we cut some pieces on my CNC table for. Stock length, but bye bye crappy bushings and a lot beefier plate/sleeve

Yeah, I saw the shackles he was working on, they are nice! Are you helping him come up with a new rear hanger as well?

I'm not positive what he's doing for hangers. I saw one he got from another member that was taken off a truck, but kinda beat/mangled. So he'll likely want to do some beefier plate ones that match factory measurements since the stock ones were not really usable.
Next thing he's doing is the new rear shock hoops to stuff his new Kings in there

Maybe we can do some collaboration. I want to get rid of my stock hangers with some beefy ones that keep the stock geometry.

Basically create a set of hangers that are as beefy as the DMZ SUA setup and tie them into a crossmember like the pictures below, but keep them stock geometry.

    ^What he said

Hold out for a bit. New hangers will be in the works shortly :spy:

I'm also waiting on a leaf pack. Gave up on AP and ordered a custom pack from Deaver via @tubbsisland at SDHQ.

    Break in SC *checks box.

I spent so long in a 93 Pickup and the 01, it took me awhile to reclaim spatial awareness/confidence with the 15 DCLB. I used to just punch through any gap balls out in the 01. Now with this pig (well, honestly piglet), it's 4 inches wider, and 18 inches longer than the 01 Xcab. But I am back to squeezing into turn lanes etc. now and being confident in the line my rear wheels will follow in turns etc. Biggest prob is if I try to bring it in the garage and close the door, it will touch my work bench. Need to work on that.

Which poly bushings? And will they still fit the OEM hanger, or are they oversized for your new design?

Are they basing the pack off anything or is it a full one off build for you? I've been running the u402 pack with aal. Pretty happy with it for hauling and general smoothness

I have the u402 also and im riding my bump stops anytime I'm loaded with camping gear. I already had them serviced by Deaver in March and they found a bad leaf. May be time to look at allpro (I don't have that much weight on the back) or look into a custom pack from deaver. The guys at their shop were really cool and customer service was great so I dont mind sticking with them.
