Had some retarded lady clip the passenger rear plastic fender flair and scratch up my wheel and knock off my mud flap. Damage was around 700 but 0 paint or any scratches on the body. Just had rim buffed and plastic replaced. Will this deduct from vehicle value if I decide to sell it?

Depends on a lot of things. Was the repair done perfectly or just so-so? Are you selling soon or 15 years from now with 200K miles on it? I believe any insurance claim will show up on CarFax so you'll probably have to advise the seller honestly about the damage and repair. A dealer may ding you for the carfax report, but a private seller might not see it as a big deal.

Any accident will affect value negatively.

    Insist on diminished value.

Thanks, this is what I am leaning towards and have done calculations. Looks like a diminished value of 400ish since not real damage but just repaired cosmetic.

Same thing with me, my 2000 T4R was clipped.

"Clipper" was insured and left info. I filed claim. Got quote. Got check. Did not repair.

A few weeks ago the accident did not appear on CarFax or ANY information when I traded in.

If it does and the dealer starts to ding you get up and walk out! They ALWAYS call you back if they think your seriously leaving. Don't be afraid to walk out from the finance officer! This got me an extra $3000 off my deal! (A brand new set of Nitto's $1000 and another $2000 in trade in!). Seems the pressure is on the FO and if you walk it's his skin! ( to clarify, he scrambled to get the dealer when I started out the door. FO did not have power to alter the deal)

Also note that here in Tucson AZ good condition used Tacomas are fetching ~$2000 MORE than KBB HIGH mark! Don't go by KBB but call the dealerships inquiring what similar they may have for sale. You will be shocked!

Combined with my insurance claim I got 100% of what I paid for my T4R! And it needed ~$3000 NOW to get back in shape.

Value is subjective. If you fixed it under insurance and it shows up on a vin check/car fax then yeah. But boo hoo who cares? Dont sell it to someone whos going to let that bother them

Thanks, yeah I looked and nothing is comparable here with low miles unless I go 2016. Kbb has it marked pretty high so I may go with retail. I did get a laugh and did the kbb instant quote sell thing and was offered 27k today!!! Lmfao, I embed them and told them to give me a real world number since it's paid for and have title in hand.

Tundra would be my choice. 4 runners arent that much bigger then the Tacoma believe it or no.

That's what I was thinking as well. Have a 4 year old and in the process of fostering to adopt 2 kids under 8 so it may be tight with the possibility of 3 car seats in the back.

Unfortunately the adoption agency declined my request for oh crap seats in the bed of the truck, at least I would have a clean interior 99% of the time.

Honestly man, do I dare say a minivan? If I was to have my third, I would see a minivan in my future. Screw all the haters, minivans are capable and comfortable.

    I should report this post:censored:

But seriously nah, my wife has a Acura mdx I bought last year. I require a truck but the smaller back seat is just the concern if we have 2 more kids in seats. It could be two out of seats as well, just don't know yet so that's my concern. I could always switch out with her if needed anyway but I like to be prepared.

Big fan of the MDX's. My wife drives a Pilot. Hard to beat the versatility of third row.

If you are sticking with a truck then seriously check out an F150 with a V8. Hard to beat.
