Question that has probably been asked a fair amount

Putting a OME lift (882 maybe 883 coils) and have SCS wheels with 3.5" BS

What is the max tire size I could get away with ?

My valve gaskets are leaking, so I thought I'd try and tighten the bolts first to see if it solved the problem.

I thought the torque spec was 13 foot lbs. looks like its actually 53 inch pounds.:(

Cracked the passenger side right on the back bolt right above the exhaust. That's how I discovered the problem. It was dripping oil right on the hot exhaust and smoking pretty strongly. At first I thought it was just some crud I knocked off when I was cleaning the edges of the valve covers off. Then I saw the crack. Later in the evening I was thinking about when I was torquing the bolts and I had a sinking feeling. Went out to check the bolt right below the engine oil cap, and there is a fucking 2 inch long crack right underneath it. Then another one a few bolts down. holy hell. I cleaned the cracks with a bit of brake cleaner and put some RTV on them. Going to see how it goes today. I'm going to be out of town this Sunday until the 29th and then I scheduled an appointment with @Speed Freek on the 30th.

Do you guys think my truck will be ok to drive 2 hours/100 miles to see Jason? Its going to save me $400 bucks over the dealership here. I already ordered the parts. What a day. I hope I didn't fuck anything else up.:frusty:

Anybody put Cooper St Maxx's 305/70 R16 on? Looking to get a real 33. I wanna make sure other than some minor hammering I won't have to do anything extra. I've seen people put on 295/75 R16 and be fine. The 305 is a 33.07 while the 295/75 is a 33.6

I'm thinking I'll be fine but would like to clarify because there's a few that tubed with 315's and I don't want to do that

Fine isn't the right word for 295/75/16.

I've done everything short of tubbing to get mine to fit properly.

What's your back spacing? If it's not low enough you will hit the uca.

Ha true, more like functioning. But the 305's are "half an inch shorter" so that's why I think I could get them to work

Nice, love there wheels. Forgot you have aftermarket uca's and I have stock so I'm not sure how that changes rubbing issues. With my 285's I had to have at least 4.25-4 to clear the stock uca.

It won't be anytime soon, it'll be in May. But I just saw the Maxx's in 305 and got intrigued.

They're also like 3/4" wider. Width hurts just as much if not more than height.

    Waiting for a 285/85/16.

Yea youl want 4" or less. you only want as little as to clear the frame and uca. any less and it gets harder to clear body.

Forgot about that part, I'll have to look more into it as time goes on. Maybe look at different tires, not sure yet

May have to get the F5's then because they're 3.5 bs then

The more they stick out the more issues you find with rubbing in area's like front bumper and fender flares (if applicable) etc... you have better clearance with the body the more the wheel is actually in the wheel well correct? Just making sure I am understanding this right.

I wanna say that's correct. If I were to add spacers it'd have to cut a bunch off at the pinch weld

virtually identical except for the height. and a touch narrower.

Compare that to the 285/75R17 I'm running, a true 34".. again, virtually the same height...
the green is mine, the orange would be your 305 on the SCS wheel. Your tire is actually wider at the tread, there will be cutting in the scrub area (lower fender lip) and lots more rub against the frame.
