So I have narrowed down minus a thing or two how I am doing to be doing phase one of my truck build. For background my truck is my Daily Driver and will also be what I offroad with. With that in mind, I admit this may seem like an overbuild to a degree, but since its my DD, I want to make sure its still competent and comfortable on and off road.

I am going to go with the ToyTec Boss Performance System found in the link below:

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...uspension-System-for-2016-Tacoma-_p_1620.html

I will be doing the 2' Boss Complete Spring pack over just adding a leaf after much thought (Buy once cry once) 2.5 Inch shocks in the back and still not sure on getting the front 2.5 with resi or no resi (Black Friday sale actually makes it a no cost add on for me technically, but recognize probably way overkill) Also getting TC UCA's (From what i gathered, those have more "wins" then the LR but I have not heard overall bads per say on the LR's, so if someone has a suggestion over those with compelling reason I am all ears)

Bump stops.. I don't expect to go "nuts" and come into a situation where those will be needed (By nuts I mean hardcore rock climbing, hence only 2' lift or crazy ramping in sand or hills going airborne etc.)

I intend, because I kinda like them, and something has to give budget wise, to keep the stock rims on the truck (TRD Offroad 16's) and only go up to a 265/75/16R. This will give me roughly 3 inches of total lift (2 from the susp) while not going so overkill on tiresize I will need to cut alot or re-gear due to the not so exciting low end torque on these puppers.

I do have a question or two if anyone would be kind enough to comment:

Live in Colorado, all that weather included. I seem to have narrowed down to the Bro tire (KO2) or Cooper STT Pro tire. Yes I know AT vs MT but those are two tires I have read across various forums that seem to be well liked with the edge in KO2 only because I can't find tons on the STT Pro in snow and ice. Anyone have thoughts? (Tire Size Being 265/75/16R)

Does anyone know a good winch and some front valance plating replacement (not entire front bumper) that can house a winch? That's a bit further down the line, but have not found any good ones.

Front Diff Drop? 2016 Double Cab Short bed? Yay or Nay? This seems to be unneeded from what I can see on 2005+ but wanted more thoughts on it.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

The new BJ's on the LR arms are greaseable which is great. I ran LR arms for about 5 years prior to a switch I made this spring to Rokmen's Brand new UCA's another great local company like Toytec. TC arms have a great track record so they too are a good choice. My only concern with them is the open Uniball which has a tendency to get dirty and noisy.

Make sure you keep bumpstops in place. In the front you should be fine with stock. For the rear you might take a look at Toytec's new bumpstop spacer so that your stock bumpstop will hit at the right height. For cutting it will be probably some of the plastic fender flare on the inside of the fender. Re-gearing should not be needed for 265's but you will notice a small drop.

Anyone have thoughts? (Tire Size Being 265/75/16R) Have you considered the Cooper ST MAXX tires? I put them on in June and so far I cannot find a flaw with them. Quiet like an AT, good aggressive tread like an MT, great road manners. The only thing that I haven't tested them in yet is snow. Most likely that test will happen soon. :D

Does anyone know a good winch and some front valance plating replacement (not entire front bumper) that can house a winch? That's a bit further down the line, but have not found any good ones. I have seen some great winch plates just for the valance the brands are escaping me at the moment. Check with Pelfreybilt or Brute Force Fab. If you want something customer InSain Fab is local here in Colorado. My truck is going to him in December for some cool fab work. Those Come Up Winches that Toytec is offering free shipping on are awesome. It's the only winch I will ever run from now on. I love mine.

This I cannot answer as I don't have a 3rd gen but the typical rule of thumb I personally use is. Don't do it until you lift it. If the vibe are there then order it afterwards.

I am kind of in the same boat as you and I am interested in the responses.

As far as what I have found, I am leaning toward this type of bumper/winch configuration because it looks factory. I like the ARB bumper, but its big, its heavy, its expensive and frankly I dont intend to be knocking down castle walls anytime soon.

As far as tires it probably comes down to personal preference. The KO2's are nice and are a good all around tire but you will find others that perform the same. I prefer General Grabbers AT2 and Michelin LTX A/T2. KO2's look more aggressive which is why a lot of people pick them. For a primarily DD, the Michelins will perform better and are awesome in snow. I can't speak on Cooper because I've never owned any.

I should have removed the quotes from his original post as I posted in red my responses. I updated my response. :)

I like that winch plate center section you have there. I adjusted my post so you can see the responses in red.

That winch plate is VERY nice and exactly what I am looking for. What did the shop have to do to put that plate on? And what winch did you by chance get outfitted inside of it that fits well?
