I do have Ditch lights and it did interfere with the light only, not the SDHQ
Mount. Just going to drill a hole further inboard and remount the light.

Install was not bad, worse part was removing the fender liner and fender protector.

I decided to use painters tape to try to protect the paint as much as I could before putting the template in place and marking holes.

Next was the drilling and cutting. I'll admit I cringed a bit cutting that big a hole in my fender.

I then test fitted the snorkel and marked the holes for the a pillar mount and drilled them out.

With all drilled and cut surfaces painted, removed the tape and mounted a pillar mount.

Reinstalled air box, Installed silicone hose from air box to snorkel, installed snorkel and reinstalled fender protector, liner.

Thanks for sharing! This is the only mod I was considering having a shop do because I didn't want to drill the A post or fender. It doesn't look so bad now:eek:. Did you use a step drill bit for the mounting holes? I cut my bumper up last week and that turned out ok. I think I'll give this a go!

Any noticeable change in intake sound? is there enough clearance for a cyclonic precleaner?

Thanks again. sorry for all the ?s but I think you're the first to do this aside from the sema truck I've saw.

I did use a step drill. Used a small reciprocating saw for the big hole. No noticable change in intake or wind noise so far. I believe there is enough room for a precleaner but I'd have to measure to give you definitive answer on that. I will try to do that in the next day or two as I'm thinking of putting one of those on before the snow starts flying here.

Nice setup! I know it's off topic but how are you mounting your front antenna? Is that a special bracket that allows it to lay horizontal when not in use or do you just unscrew it?

It's just a 90 degree folding antenna mount.

Update: I did not drill into the SDHQ mounts for the ditch light, I replaced them with @rcioffroad mounts and they fit great with the snorkel.

Thanks for that pic! I have the rago bra brackets right now and I think they will work out looking at that.

I think you'll be fine as long as the light doesn't extend past the hood edge

How visible is it from the driver's position? Curious how much it blocks the right side in day to day driving.

with the oem fender flares it looks like it buldges out too much compared to the 2GEN model... my deciding factor will be how well it performs and looks with a Tacoma with bushwacker flares... @honey you need to get this so I can see how it looks with the flares lol

dont the bushwacker flares go higher on the fender then the stock ones? if so it might hit this snorkel.

Question, does this void the warranty by drilling the a-pillar? Will those holes affect the resell value. I can see replacing the fender easily, but the a-pillar is on a whole different level.

That's a pretty huge commitment drilling holes like that.

Is anyone treating the cut after to help with corrosion?
I'm in Canada, just concerned that after cutting and drilling into body panels may help water and salt get into unpainted metal and cause rust.

guess if you're going to sell maybe considering body filler?
I wonder what it does to structural integrity putting holes in it.
