In all my vehicles I've ever owned there was an AUX position. My 07 I need to turn the key to the ON position to say, program my gps or fool with the stereo of something. Is it hurting anything leave it in the ON position for an extended period of time?

My 2008 has an accessory position between ON and OFF. Check again maybe? Should be: OFF - ACC - ON - START

That doesn't sound like it's functioning correctly then.

I would not leave it in ON for a long time without the engine running. It will probably drain the battery faster than ACC due to the engine control systems being fully active.

yah, for sure, back in day it was a no no to leave it in the on position due to burning up the points among other things but I just thought thats how 2 gens were.

Thanks for the info guys, at least now I know I have another problem to deal with soon.
